Talked to my brother last night. It sounds like they've already got most of the junk cleared out from Mom's house, so I won't have to help anymore with that chore. My niece and her husband have been really pro-active in helping with the house, which is nice because they got a really good deal on the price. My Mom's 60th high school reunion is coming up in late September, so I may volunteer to take her to that, as it sounds like she really wants to go.

Itch, thanks for the A&C bit. Here's another golden oldie, courtesy of the Stooges:

Have a great Sunday, overs!

My wee girl is back in Scotland now and I will spend tomorrow afternoon with her!! Yaaay - I have been unavoidably worried with her being away in the Mediterranean and IS having struck there (Tunisia) in the last few weeks.... so that is a big weight off of my mind

Had a wonderful dinner of smoked haddock with mustard sauce and mashed potatoes - yum, yum, yum!!

Been a good Sunday all in - hi to everyone!

Morning Overs! So yesterday, my long time friend and former drinking bud wanted to have brunch with me after church. Today 7/13 is his birthday. So he texted me that he was getting to the restaurant a hour earlier than we planned and get there sooner if I can. I missed the message, got there at noon.... he was smashed. Owner told me he was smashed when he got there.

He smokes so was out on patio in the broiling heat telling me that he had decided to "moderate" his drinking. Yeah, that is going to happen when you are already beyond drunk. I told him it was the best thing I ever did and he just looked at me.

So drunk we never had brunch and I was glad he left, thankfully with another friend who brought him.

At 4PM, he calls me apologizing for not making brunch, he had passed out and forgotten he even came. When I reminded him he was there, he laughed and decided to get up and have an evening cocktail.

I don't know why I am really posting this, except to maybe to publicly express gratitude that I once just as bad and crawled out of the dark, thanks very much to you all here. Several have tried with this fellow, and sadly I think it is going to take hitting bottom before he makes any effort.

Making it ironic is that my church recognized the AA meeting we host on its 3 year anniversary and a special prayer was read.

Going to be today... getting desert weather after a bout of San Francisco weather last week.

Take care Overs... and thanks!

Itchy hope the new house project is coming close.

Great to see my mini me today! The afternoon and early evening whizzed by! She had a great time but was glad to be home. She got some lovely little presents from the local market stalls in Mallorca I got an adorable bracelet from her which was very kind of her.

Onwards and upwards as my dad used to say...

Hey all! It is drying out and if it looks to stay dry for the next seven days we are moving forward on the house.
Hi Andy!

OLL,
looks like it is finally going to happen.

FBL,
I loved that routine from the Stooges! I remember doing that routine as a kid.

Instant,
Yep those dreams do get our attention.

FG,
Gglad you guys are back together with no harm done.

Mags!
You got the dress and the landmark old pub to wear it to when it is redone.

Drake,
Yep it is hot here too. We are drying out finally too! 95 today and the humidity makes it feel like 110 the news weather guy said.

Wolf,
You ever have squab for dinner? (Just kidding)

I got all the computers fixed that were giving me grief. I tried to get a Vista machine upgraded to my last 32 bit retail Windows 7., so it could be upgraded to Windows 10 when it comes out in 16 days but the drivers weren't even there for Windows 7 so I restored the Macrium image I made and all is well again.

Everyone who uses images as most, don't ever try to see if they can restore the image. And finding out the image won't work or that you don't know how to restore it is not for me. I used images as a tool and would swap from one Windows version back to the previous on the same machine in a bout 30 minutes. I have done more image restores as many folks have done toilet paper rolls. No problem. So this one won't come back to haunt me with 18 hours updating straight again.

I got my yard mowed mostly until the belt broke and none of my neighbors are young enough to have the upper body strength to pull it over the main pulley. I don't. And I really need to get it on and finish cutting grass!
