Gilmer, I'm amazed at how well you are doing. It would likely make you superwoman if you didn't have any cravings. It sounds like your dad is in a phase where he is accepting changes. I'm happy to hear you will have a break for a few days and that your dad will be safe. I don't think it's ever easy to decide to place a loved one in a care facility. There are, however safety considerations for both your dad and your family so this sounds like a positive move for all. (((Hugs)))!

Just saying, even when you've got a long time sober, cravings can still hit. Beware!

Gilmer, I'm glad you handled your craving, we have to remain ever vigilant.

Sass, how are you feeling now?

Hi Toots, am seeing my doc tomorrow - at long last! His assistant kept blowing me off so I sent him a message via electronic medical records system and he caused it to happen. Throat still hurts, allergies - I'm kinda stuck inside where it's air conditioned... :-(

That's cute!

Thanks, you guys.

For today I wanted to display the tornado emoticon, but it's missing.

I'm going to bed.

DD, big congratulations on your promotion! If anybody on earth deserved it, you did!

I'm glad you and your girlfriend are still going strong. Will you guys be staying in the Philly area? Last I heard, you were seriously considering going to CA with her job.
Because she got the promotion, it looks like we'll be staying in Philly for the time being. We'll see what happens.

Just got back from hanging out with my niece. I got to feed her! She is precious. Makes me want one too.

DD sounds like things with your brother have improved somewhat. Is your mom enjoying being a grandma? It's good you get to stay in Philly near family. Babies are cute, mum til they are depriving you of sleep night after night and screaming at a decibel level that would be designates as torture by the UN!! Enjoy the small doses you have of your niece and maybe when she is a little older, you can offer your bro & SIL the occasional night of 8 hours sleep by taking her overnight from time to time.

North, Shoes, Duff any of Y'All got time for a check in??

Thank you, everyone. I got 12 1/2 hours sleep last night! I let myself wake up naturally instead of setting the alarm.

Sass, I hope the doctor helps you once and for all!

Oh man, six hours sleep sounds like luxury just now. My body is in 'make hay while the sun shines' mode and doesn't want to sleep more than a few hours. In six months time when it's dark, I will feel like hibernating!!

Hi everyone. Congrats DD on your little niece. Gilmer take a bow, you dun good girl!

I spent Saturday & Sunday sick but I think I killed the cold. Today we bought a little black car, I'd rather it wasn't black but it was a very good deal. Not a ute Ken, one of these ...

I had the first session of physical therapy for my neck today. First, my shoulders needed a lot of treatment because they were super tight. Then I had to do a bunch of exercises to strengthen my neck and arms (I've never had good upper body strength).

I did those for about 45 minutes--and finally she had me get up on the table, put a cold compress around my shoulders, then just lie back for 15 minutes.

I felt like I was in paradise!

I can't wait to go there again on Thursday!
