Class of March 2013 Part 42
And the Buddtruck saga continues:
Last night, on the way home from work, I stopped at the convenience store for some soda. I got back in Buddtruck, turned the key and ......nothing, dead battery.
I opened the hood and noticed that the wire from the alternator to the battery is not connected to the battery. It's now 1:00 am and I'm tired and aggravated. A guy I've seen around walks up and says he has jumper cables in his van but his van is at his house about 1 1/2 miles away. He said he would walk to his van and bring it by to give me a jump.
The store clerk said he was a good guy and will come back if he says he would.
I waited 2 hours for him, finally walked home, (not far about 15 minutes).
Woke up this morning and was about to call roadside assistance when my phone rings, its the mechanic. He left some tools in my car and could I drop them off!
I explained to him about the altenator cable, he starts saying he never opened the hood, but, I had noticed that I had different post connectors on since last time I changed them. "Suddenly" he realizes that he did have one of his guys replace the connectors.
He did do the right thing and came by topick me up and head to the truck, refixed the cable and wanted me to drive to his shop to check the battery and alternator. On the way back to the shop, truck completely dies out on the top of a bridge. I was able to coast to the bottom and pull over.
I called the shop and told him I broke down. They were going to call a tow truck, but I looked under the hood again and saw the cable he just repaired was loose!!!
I got the truck started again by fixing the cable myself. Went by the garage and had the battery tested. It was ok, but they insisted on replacing it for my troubles.
Hopefully thats the end of this chapter of "Buddtruck, the car that didn't want to be fixed"

Good morning Marchers Goodness me Ken what a saga with the BudTruck! Speaking of cars I'm having a test run of my "new" little car tomorrow when I go down to Canberra for lunch with a bunch of girlfriends, it's a two hour (high speed) drive from here so that will be a good chance to check out the car on the highway.
I hope everyone has a lovely weekend.

Mornin' Marchers! Another quick drive-by. Busy, busy, busy. Actually, I've been around but there were so many posts I wanted to respond to that I kept putting it off until I had time to do the kind of post that I wanted to. I finally realized that if I did that, I might never post again
So cheerio to all :-)

I'm glad I have you people. My family freaked on me yesterday. Well, I freaked on me yesterday. "Imagine if you will..." the production manager walks up to me and says: "(the owner) says you aren't to work on machines during normal working hours" I just laughed. Fixing machines is part of my job. I can't do that during normal working hours now.
I took my toolbag home. It's now $40 an hour to repair machines. Regardless.
ID10T error there.
The hunt for a rational employer continues.

Know what? We're going on a Bender from now on. Futurama reference "Kiss my shiney metal butt."
I swear, life gets weirder and weirder. I try to get sane and it just gets stranger. Without you folks I would probably end up in the hospital. I am to the point of laughing when people make their wants known. They say something stupid and I laugh.

For those who pray we really really need them here in Florida right now. Two 14 year old boys went missing in their boat this weekend. They were last seen at our inlet. They found the boat but not the boys. It's all I can think about.
