Oh, I smiled a lot today when I didn't want to. We had a picture day for a customer. They're lucky there wasn't blood all over everything.

Good morning Marchers from a wild old Paradise. There is actually a snow day for schoolkids up in the Blue Mountains which are west of Sydney!

I'm late checking in this morning because I had to go to a doctor's appointment and, tbh, I'm a bit pissed off with the outcome -- I've got rheumatoid arthritis in my hands. For a year or more I've had this feeling of having "sprained hands" and it's been much worse this winter so I finally gave in, got it checked out and had blood tests. I thought it might be RSI from computers or knitting so I guess that's something.

Being a person who enjoys good health I'm a whinger when something goes wrong. Anyway the doctor says we can treat it and of course I'll check out anti-inflammatory foods etc, I can feel my pollyanna attitude returning, I only heard this an hour ago and I do know it's not the end of the world.

Gilmer I hope that you are enjoying a rest now or maybe you are driving back?

How's this for an awesome photo? It's from twitter.

Have a good day peeps.

Sorry about your hand, Marcher. As a veteran of physical issues, I understand the frustration.

And no offense, but that picture makes me laugh. What is that, 2-3 inches, tops? Hah!

Trachy my sweet Prince I missed your post at the bottom of the previous page and only saw your post at the top of this one. You went off ADs recently didn't you? Maybe go back to the dr?

Thanks DD and D and Sass. I feel kinda silly having a whinge about mild pain when you D's and Mr Marcher have serious pain issues. I probably wanted the doctor to say "Yes Marcher, your diagnosis is correct, you have had sprained hands for over a year, a medical condition that has never existed before."

Stick close until the black cloud shifts sweetie, we love you in whatever frame of mind you happen to be in.

Marcher sorry about the hands, you are not a winger, and being as active as you are, I'm sure you were concerned if it was going to limit your capabilities. As ever you will rise above and take it all I your stride.
Call that snow??

I'm still on the AD. I learned not to stop that. Just in a foul mood. I'll be OK. I've accepted that life's not all rainbow farting unicorns all the time.

Oh sorry Trach, I thought you went off them? Maybe you were thinking of it?

I managed to toss dinner on the floor tonight. We were having homemade pizza and, as we use proper pizza stones, my hands did the droop they do lately when I take stuff out of the oven or off the cooktop. However, I got lucky, it slid base down so I applied the "five second rule" and all was well.

Trachy, take care and please keep us posted. I hope you will feel better this weekend!

Marcher, I agree that you are not "whinging". A diagnosis of a chronic condition usually takes time to digest and accept. It's ok to feel it's unfair - it really is unfair! There is always someone worse off but it's what we are experiencing at the moment that feels like the worst. And that's normal!

DD, it's nice to see you around here now and then :-)

Toots, sorry to hear you won't be coming back to bean town! I so much enjoyed our visit. I hope that Mr T likes his new job.

Gilmer, how are you holding up, my dear? I'm going to be rescheduling my trip to Maryland for September and will keep you posted.

Dee, how are you doing these days?

Have a lovely day, night, or whatever it is wherever you are!

Glad you were able to rescue the pizza, Marcher! Sorry about your hands.

Trach, I hope you feel better today. Here's something to brighten your day:

I'm in Kennett Square, PA now. This is known as "The Mushroom Capital of the World."

The gravesite ceremony was lovely. I was expecting five people--but much to my shock, thirty four of my cousins, their children, and their grandchildren came! The last of my dad's generation, my Aunt Mickie, drove up from Ohio with her son. So at the last minute I had to scramble and book a larger room at the restaurant! That was a good problem to have. It was great to see everybody. We all stayed around for a good three hours. I think a good time was had by all.

It is a relief now that it's all done, though!
