LOL Briar....and huge hugs Arbor.
I'm a bit serious today, sorry.
My dad would have been 94 tomorrow...just feeling a lot of strong emotions today. I miss him.

Haha! You guys, in honor of my ten years coming up on Thursday, I was cruising for pictures involving couples under umbrellas in the rain. Romantic, right? I found this one, which my husband describes as "reality":

Oh sorry, V. I posted before I saw you're having a down day. I hope you're doing okay.

Does a funny picture help?

Well, if I can't have any of phoebe's cookies....

Just a bit sad. I keep getting told it's normal.
This too shall pass.

Sorry your feeling down V. Sounds normal to me. My gosh your dad lived a long life. You must have really great family genes.

And the baby cries. Every night...this too shall pass.

Sorry, V. Even after 94 years of life, losing a parent is so hard. And, in my own experience, losing one's last parent is more difficult, because one feels somewhat orphaned, even though an adult.

I once sent cookies to a SR friend who was alone on Thanksgiving. I would send you some, V. Seriously. But, nomprises on what shape they would be in after traveling to Oz. how long does that take? I am game to try, lol!!

phoebe....no idea, but thank you for the thought.

And yes, it is that exactly. I do feel like an orphan. Plus my aunt is gone, and my best friend as well. He didn't die, but he is gone nonetheless. I am not feeling sorry for myself, just an emotional day.

Reading back a bit again. So hard to keep up when I don't get here for a day, lol.

V, thanks for the empathy about the dog situation. This shelter is no kill, so not an issue for that dog. It truly was not an aggressive one. More a big lick with some tooth, but my son is very nervous with unfamiliar dogs. It was more informative. It will be important to take our time and be sure son is comfortable with a dog before we bring one home.

And, Briar!! So envious of the plums and lemons! I need to tell my son to live there! He loves both. He is begging me to make this lemon pound cake recipe he grabbed when we shopped at a Penzy's Spices shop. You take such artistic looking photos.

Aw thanks about my photos, Phoebe. The most elegant one, I think, was the splatted plums. Some of my best work.

Briar ~The shadow picture when you were walking is so good that you could enter it into a competition (in my opinion ).

Morning gang.

Headed out to the country today to enjoy some comfort food and indulge my country boy heart. So today's song of the day is Blake Shelton's Boys 'Round Here....although I don't drink beer, chew tobacco, and rarely spit.

Have a good one.

Sounds good Mark. It's a rainy Father's Day here. Might make a Costco run in a bit with the fam. Maybe rotisserie up a whole chicken on the grill later.
