Hey guys,

I'm here, just been lazy in writing.
Soooo, my weekend away wasn't very good..
Fist night I was there I slipped on a back step and severely sprained my ankle, possible broken, I have't been able to walk at all, my boyfriend was barely helpful, actually got irritated with me because I was taking so long and made us late to meet his dad for fishing, he treated me like a buddy all weekend and barely touched me or came near me, certainly didn't do anything to make me feel better, the exact opposite actually. I was in a strange place, didn't know anyone, couldn't do anything for myself, had to crawl everywhere around his house.
He was really ****** honestly, so I drove home 9 hours alone with an injured foot and no pain pills.
But I made it, I broke up with him.
Also, I looked in his phone ( I know, I know) its just the easiest way to see if someone is wasting my time- there were texts to an ex while I was on a grip, asking her over to watch movies etc. maybe they're just friends, but the " feel" of it wasn't good.
So here I am, can't work, no boyfriend...
Working on 30 days sober though.

Brynn, i know how you feel not being able to walk or take care of yourself, its one of the worst experiences I've had

Hope everyone is well

Oh Jen! Hugs girl! You poor thing! Hope your ankles feeling better soon and I'm sorry about the jerky boyfriend. Blah! What a cruddy deal.
I'm so happy to hear your sober though! Forget about the guy and focus on treating yourself good. And go to the Dr if you haven't already and if the pain isn't any better.
Love and hugs to you! ❤️❤️

Going fishing again today at the same place I celebrated day 60 back in February.
Now it's day 235. Despite some uncertainty lately about where we'll live ( the possibility of leaving the West Coast and heading to the East), I won't be drinking. I thought some issue were settled and we'd be good for another couple if years, but new issues have arisen. I really don't want to leave. Hopefully things get sorted.
This is a nice spot, where I'm headed today. A large cliff over the San Pablo Bay. Little private beaches below the cliffs. You can see a good chunk of the bay area from this vantage point. I remember being amazed I made it 60 days back in February.

Sorry about the situation with the (now ex) boyfriend, Jenn. 9 hours is a long drive without a hurt ankle. I hope everyone else is well.

Oh Jen - that all sounds awful. I remember how thrilled you were when you met this guy - sorry he turned out to be an a**. Did you go get x-rays? In any case - glad you are still sober.

Thanks Marty, I'm really superstitious, so I'm kinda thinking the ankle is a small price to pay for the information I got on the guy
I did get xrayed, not broken as far as he could see, but it was too swollen so I'll have to go back

In his defense he was off his anxiety/ depression meds, so he was so up and down, he didn't tell me that until I asked him if I had done anything wrong. It was still upsetting and confusing though.

Well he lives so far away f I'm you - and the stuff with the ex - probably not worth pursuing in any case. I had a really bad sprain about two years ago - same thing - too swollen to see if there was a break. I was supposed to go back but never did - my bad. I did get a really good brace so I just used that. There may have been a small fracture because it took forever to get better, but it's ok now.

Thats what I thought too, the meds didn't make him text the ex, thats the main reason I broke it off, the other stuff could've been sorted, but all together it was too much.
My best friend had a broken foot for years too

Jen- Sorry to hear about your trip and the ex. Is your ankle any better?

Gniknus- good luck on the important life decisions you have to make about moving. At least now you can make them with a clear head. That always makes it easier.

I hope everyone has a great rest of the weekend.

Will be able to continue on the West Coast! All issues seems to have been resolved, I hope. Ah. Weight off my shoulders. I do love it out here and dread the thought of having to relocate.

Had my first sober jam session with musicians I'd never played with last night. It was great to be sober and clear. I didn't miss beer for a second, though others were partaking. Since my wife and kids are visiting back east I stayed up playing really late. Even came home after midnight and watched netflix for a couple of hours. When I woke up today I almost felt like I should be hungover (since I associate late nights with drinking). So nice to wake up without that.

Now I see what's meant by sober muscles. I spent the first 7 months laying low and avoiding old situations and people. Now I'm making a slow return to being in situations where alcohol is present and it's becoming less and less of a big deal. It's so strange. I used to be the one in the room who drank more than anyone else. Now I am the one who drinks the least.

Finally got my driver's license crap figured out. I hate bureaucracy. But now I have a license for necessary driving. It's a great relief. I've been driving anyway and having small panic attacks whenever I saw a cop.

Congrats MLD! Glad you are on the roads again!
I'm here, sorry for my absence. I slipped again and have been posting in the July thread. But I've missed you all! And I have 7 lovely days under my belt now.

Will come back soon, I'm headed to bed now. Gnight
