ONE DAY AT A TIME
Above all, take it one day at a time.
— AS BILL SEES IT, p. 11
Why do I kid myself that I must stay away from a drink for only one day, when I know perfectly well I must never drink again as long as I live? I am not kidding myself because one day at a time is probably the only way I can reach the long-range objective of staying sober.
If I determine that I shall never drink again as long as I live, I set myself up. How can I be sure I won't drink when I have no idea what the future may hold?
On a day-at-a-time basis, I am confident I can stay away from a drink for one day. So I set out with confidence. At the end of the day, I have the reward of achievement. Achievement feels good and that makes me want more!

Well done, chanty!!!!
Good morning. Looking forward to a peaceful, beautiful day. . . no matter what. Everything around me can swirl like a tornado, but what happens inside of me is on solid ground and part of that is because I know you all are with me in spirit 24/7. Go TEAM SR!!!
I caved and drank last night. Getting up and right back at it. I can get through today without alcohol and will.
it is 7:15am in Utah and I actually feel ok this morning - think I am battling a spring cold or the allergies are just really getting to me.

I'm back and struggling to understand why I keep slipping up. I can make it 1-3 days, then get back into the same slump.
Big picture I've scaled back, but I want to be done with this garbage. The daily 6 pack or bottle of wine is still doing physical and emotional damage.
I got up early this morning and worked out, showered, and sang on the way into work. It's time to own this.
