Hi Julyer’s: I am so glad to see that the class is still active and maintaining efforts to stay sober. A special greetings to the regulars: Snoozy, Bob, Crois, Leshar, SoberWolf and of course Dee. I wanted to check in to say hello and report that I have stayed the sober course, through it all. After a harrowing couple of months, I am happy to report that life is good again and that my marriage is back on track. I am optimistically looking forward to the future, armed with knowledge that I can pull through no matter what disappointments my husband, or life in general, throws at me. I am the only person I can control.

Snoozy: My heart broke when reading your posts about your grand baby. I love the journal idea and I have used that technique myself many times. Your grand daughter will read it one day (or maybe an edited version) and be so grateful to know she was in your heart all along. As for your daughter-in-law, no one escapes Karma. I promise. I also pray that your soon finds his way out of his sadness.
Take Care everyone and thanks for still being here.

Crois: Thank you. And likewise I am glad to see that you were getting home from work. Congratulations! I hope its the perfect fit. It feels really good to be back in touch with this class and we know that we are still in it together, even if we drift off to deal with life (good or bad).

I've been reading snippets from "the Language of Letting Go". This resonated today, and made me think of you, Leshar - when sometimes things don't seem so good even though you are sober;

"Being in recovery does not mean immunity from pain; it means learning to take loving care of ourselves when we are in pain."

Hope your week is going ok. But if not, you are in our thoughts.xx

Wow, just reading back through the journal I kept last year when I resigned from my super stressful job.

So tough being out of work back then, and having no one really to confide in or support me in real life. Plus all the grief from losing someone close to me. Such a tough time, but I do feel I've changed so much.

It's funny, I read one quote, that refers to relapse usually being preceded by feelings of helplessness or powerlessness. And I know for me, that's exactly what happened this last time. I became really attached to someone I was working with - it never had any future, but when my contract was finishing, I could see my time slipping away with this person - and I felt a bit out of control.

anyway....random musings before bed here. Nighty night all,xx...

Just saying hi. Pretty lonely. It's a long weekend here and friends are away. I'm checking on a friends cat over the weekend. Is it awful to be jealous of a friend who has a new boyfriend? I hardly ever see her now. She's so happy with him and he's practically moved in with her. Mean of me, but I guess I'm just lonely, that's the worst. I want to numb out so bad. Will it ever get easier.

SW, wash your mouth out with soap! 33 is not old age, and if it is, I'm ready for a nursing home!
