Eucalyptus trees emit volatile oils, aromatic organic chemicals. When trees grow in large quantities, they perfume the air and cause scattering of the sun’s rays at the ultraviolet end of the spectrum, which makes objects look blue & hazy.
The Blue Mountains, New South Wales, famous for many things including the blue haze and the smell from the forests of eucalypts.
Appreciate the forest as well as the trees. I’ll see you here tomorrow, I hope!
