Today is Jelly Bean Day!! Do you love them or hate? Do you have a favorite flavor? I disliked them completely until the emergence of Jelly Belly- now there were some flavors I could get behind. My fav? Buttered popcorn.
They were President Reagan’s favorite candy and he used them to help him quit smoking when he was the governor of California.
Each year in the U.S, there are 16 billion jelly beans manufactured just for Easter. This is enough to circle the Earth more than 3 times if they were laid end to end.
The jelly bean is associated with Easter because of its egg-like shape.
In the early 20th century, a “jelly-bean” was slang for a man of style and no substance.
They were the first candy to be sold by weight rather than by piece.
I'm here for my 24 hours of sober time. I have the plague and feel like I may need to lie down now. If coughing were a sport, I'd be in the running for the gold medal.

Thanks Courage2 for the link for Space Station Alerts. I signed right up! I remember as a child spotting SkyLab with my dad. There is going to be a meteor shower tonight, too! I LOVE the night sky!!!

I completely forgot about it being 2 months today. Been so busy at work I check in here and have a quick read through but I haven't been counting the days so that snuck up on me... 2 MONTHS. Wow.

I'm one of those weirdos that loves black jelly beans (but not black licorice - my eating habits/tastes make no sense). As far as Jelly Bellys, I love mixing the flavors to come up with new combos (i.e. Banana split, blueberry muffin, Cherry Dr. Pepper, etc).
My son recently got some Bean Boozled Jelly Bellys at a b-day party. I won't even go into what those are - look them up if you're interested. Completely disgusted me but both of my kids ate them. They had a contest to see who would get the most disgusting flavor.
Feel better Viking and anyone else under the weather.
Now I'm going to look up the ISS flight pattern!

I forgot to mention that I bumped into a girl at an AA centre who I haven't seen for a long time. She has struggled to maintain sobriety for longer than a few months. She also suffers from mental disorders. Anyway, yesterday I saw her and she has almost 1 year sobriety. I could IMMEDIATELY tell she was so much better. Her voice was upbeat and energetic. Her eyes positively sparkled and her entire demeanor exuded happiness and positivity. What a change ! ***** !!
