the last surgery
was easy cuz i didn't
care if they killed me

live a healthy life and do

but it's not my time to die

about tattoos and glasses
like spiders and bees

a lengthening list
of things to be avoided
fascinating fear

this poem flows backward
starts at knowledge, back to hope
a funny ending

for one who did not
ask to be placed in a play
nor to write love poems

my pain was from yet
another surgery but
the pain is now gone

i'm tired but at peace
and hopeful for my future
i'm made right again

when i regain strength
i will be younger than i've
been for many years
