Duck! I’m glad at least some of you like ‘em, because this theme is likely to have legs. Or at least, webbed feet.
Ducks belong to the Anatidae family of birds, same as swans and geese. They’re more closely related to swans and geese than to grebes, coots or loons. Or screamers, for that matter. Now I’ve intrigued you, no?
Mallards (yesterday’s duck of the day) are in a subfamily of ducks, all the non-extinct members of which are “dabbling ducks” meaning they eat from the surface of the water rather than diving for food.
Anas Americana, the American wigeon. He appears to be dabbling.
Dabble with ducks, but not with sobriety. Stay sober, and I’ll see you here tomorrow!
