Class of December 2014 Part 17
Thanks for the congrats, folks! I've never entered a cooking contest before. Might have to try it more often. I got a little trophy and everything. Ok but here's something strange about me. Not sure if I've mentioned this or not. My sense of smell doesn't work, and my tastebuds barely do. I had a traumatic brain injury about 3 years ago, and that was the only lasting effect. Horrible for someone who loves to cook. So I cook by instinct now. I know from experience what flavors work together and how much of things to use. I cook using recipes as a base and go from there. I'd love to make a career somehow out of cooking, but how can I do that when I can't taste??? I can taste salty, sour, bitter and sweet. That's it. No nuances. But everyone said my chili was balanced and complex. I guess it was an accident.
So Biggie you only love me for my Shark and my Mac and cheese....which is amazing by the way. I see how you roll. Have a great break
I also love asiago....and chili...hell maybe tomorrow I will try asiago chili.

Marty- that definately makes the win more special. Congrats!! I bet you are a wonderful cook.
All of this talk about cheese, steak, Mac n cheese, pulled pork chili, and English muffins is making me hungry! I am drinking lemon ginger tea.
Hemm I wonder if Tonks and his lady friend had something good to eat.
Another question has anyone tried that new fad going around involving super strong coffee, butter, and fractionated coconut oil? I have mixed feelings.
