Thanks for the congrats, folks! I've never entered a cooking contest before. Might have to try it more often. I got a little trophy and everything. Ok but here's something strange about me. Not sure if I've mentioned this or not. My sense of smell doesn't work, and my tastebuds barely do. I had a traumatic brain injury about 3 years ago, and that was the only lasting effect. Horrible for someone who loves to cook. So I cook by instinct now. I know from experience what flavors work together and how much of things to use. I cook using recipes as a base and go from there. I'd love to make a career somehow out of cooking, but how can I do that when I can't taste??? I can taste salty, sour, bitter and sweet. That's it. No nuances. But everyone said my chili was balanced and complex. I guess it was an accident. :)

Another question has anyone tried that new fad going around involving super strong coffee, butter, and fractionated coconut oil? I have mixed feelings. ;)

I have seen people use butter in coffee and coconut oil but never together. The coconut oil is supposed to be really good for you.

Della- yes I guess you are suppose to put the ingredients in the blender and it comes out really frothy and creamy...sounds really rich!
