Class of March 2013 Part 39
I love what you said about well being your default state in sobriety.
That is what I'm striving for...I will be well.
North ~ I am very mindful of how blessed I am that I did not end up in jail.
I so easily could have. For so many reasons. And I would never have done the things I did if I wasn't smoking grass or drinking. Never.
I think I know how these guys feel. I may not have ever physically harmed anyone, but I did a lot of illegal stuff. A lot of bad stuff. I am glad you are there working with them.

Venus: It is so good to have you posting today. I really miss the energy you bring to SR when you are away. I haven't PM'd you b/c I know you have a lot on your plate and did not want to overwhelm you, but please know...anytime at all, if you want or need to, PM me. Well, that also goes for all Marcher's. BTW: I just finished watching the movie, "This is Where I Leave You"... I borrowed it from the library. It was a really cute movie, with a few twists thrown in. I think you had recommended it a while back to someone else. I also wanted to let you know that I got stuck watching Shameless in that I started with the British version, then switched to the US version, and now cannot decide which one to continue with.
I just wanted to post that today is my 2 year anniversary of getting clean from pain pills and I am pretty sure it is two years today(give or take a day) that I joined SR. I read the substance abuse threads these days, and realize how blessed I was to get clean when I did b/c I had about 4 or 5 buddies getting clean from pills all at the same time. Joygirl joined about a week or two after me, just to give you an example of the support I found there. I truly felt such a bond with those friends, although I haven't seen any of them post for quite some time now. I am glad I found the stable Marchers soon after I joined and am so grateful our thread remains active!

1day, congrats on two years!! Woohoo!
Venus, thinking about you sweetie. Glad you had a day off.
I'm a little nervous and gotta get my beauty sleep lol so I can't stay. I'm in an educational network of sorts, and I got invited (yesterday) to speak at the meeting of the principals in this rather large urban school district. Yikes!!! But I'll get some sleep, get up tomorrow groggy and nervous but clearheaded. Hopefully, I'll make a good impression and it will help. Did I mention I'm nervous?

Thank you, Dee.
CONGRATULATIONS, ON 2 YEARS, 1DAY!!
WeHav, from what I gather, you have acquired a lot of knowledge and expertise over the years. What an honor to be chosen to speak! I'm sure they will be an eager and receptive audience. The flip side of nerves is adrenaline! Go knock 'em dead!
