One Year & Over Part 24
Good morning Overs.
Toots -
We have some skeletons in cupboards but no cat ones. How about this one - two brothers married two sisters and then the two sisters each have children by both brothers interleaved
I love the stories and history around family history.
Have a good day everyone.

My Dad traced our family tree all the way back to the 1500s in Switzerland. Many of my relatives were simple farming folk. Most of them came to America in the 1800s and settled in rural areas that must have reminded them of home. Other than the gangster, most of them led quiet lives. Although my paternal Grandma's brother was quite a character and was labeled the town drunk...guess that's partly where my (former) love of beer came from
Have a great Friday, overs!

My Family, Mom's from Ireland and Dad's from England, were pretty boring. Some cousins, aunts/uncles etc., came early to the US, but my immediate grandparents on both sides were born in Ireland and England (Londonderry and Woking). Railroaders and farmers. No one famous, no one notorious. My paternal Grandmother's family was Methodist and had a huge number of pastors, bishops and such but I seemed to escape that. I do like trains however, but never worked on one.
Endured another night with the "fellow singer from the depths of you-know-where". Bit my tongue and noted that Easter is soon here and I will be done!
Have a fine Friday (Saturday for those Down Under) Overs!

Aye FG it went really dark in Dundee, quite eerie!
Drake, I thought you had Welsh conections?
All is well in Tootsville (Pop 1) started the long and painful task of gardening yesterday. We have a whole weekend of sunshine so I will be outside the whole time. Big whoop!
It's not that I don't like gardening, it's just that there is so darn much all I ever see is how much is left to be done!!

I should mention that it's only one branch of my paternal side of the family tree that traces back to Switzerland. I'm only about 1/8th Swiss, the rest is of me is actually German heritage (which would help to explain the whole beer deal).
Have a great weekend, overs!
