Happy Tuesday fine friends
Hope k you are all well .
The sun has been shining here all day, I went for a walk in the dusk after work and saw 2 barn owls, they seemed to be a couple, so sweet, I love living in the country!
Lost half a pound at fat club, every little helps!
No news here, just plodding on, enjoying life, staying sober
Thank you all so much for your amazing support, you've helped me through some tough days!
I am still in pain with my tooth and will be ringing the emergency dentist in the morning, I can take no more! Will update you!
Watching homeland and chilling this evening
Thinking of you all xxxx

Wild Wednesday! Can I get a shout out people!
Feeling good today, AV been whispering a bit about vacation a month from now. I deserve a few drinks under the sun, etc. I decided to change the visual of the vacation to a health and mind retreat. My plan is to hit the gym, eat raw food, get some sun, do yoga and enjoy my kid. No hangovers and no regrets.
Sneaky little bastard that AV. I recognized him quickly in his fake beard and glasses. Foxtrot Oscar baby!

Hey all
I wrote a big long post at 7am but it wouldn't attach to the thread. Doh. Never mind.
Instead I will just say all is good and wishing everyone a super Wednesday!
Good luck with the dentist Pink

Good morning,
Pink, good luck with the dentist today; here's hoping it is a better visit than your last one.
Nothing new here, just putting one foot in front of the other and staying sober.
Have a great day everyone.

From my daily app:Recovery is about replacing the negative habits of addiction with the healthy habits of the Twelve Step spiritual program.
These are the seven habits of successful sobriety:
1. Forget willpower and embrace your Higher Power. Accept that addiction is a disease and abstinence is the only solution.
2. Use the problem-solving skills you are learning in recovery to stabilize your emotions.
3. Learn to identify and manage stress.
4. Build a sobriety-based lifestyle by engaging in healthy recreation with sober friends.
5. Learn to let go of self-defeating behaviors.
6. Be prepared for the lifelong process of continued personal growth and development.
7. Don’t get lazy with recovery. It takes focus to abstain for a lifetime.

We will see how it goes Pink!
I spoke with a customer of mine who ran cross country at Harvard. Bright guy. He's suggested I need to do some cross training on my non running days to vary my muscle use.
Guess I'll need to teach my dog to do pull ups.
Hosting a dinner tonight for a bunch of customers. The negotiated contract assumes two drinks per person. I remember when I used to think that was absurdly low. What a difference a handful of months can make!

Just checking in-nothing much to say, but I had a busy weekend and wasn't around much. Here, though, reading, rooting for us all!
My daily app reminder really hit home today. Although I'm not in AA, I find the daily exercises helpful and humbling. I would consider myself not moving forward right now in emotional sobriety-or I guess maturity. All I can do is keep moving forward, not beat myself up for not recognizing it sooner.
Sounds like a good idea, Ultra! You'll only be stronger and less prone to injury that way.
See ya'll tomorrow!

Hey all! Just a quick check-in, super busy week so far but all good. Thanks Pink for the comment - I always read posts while on the train to and from work but do not like posting from my iphone.
Pink - Love the image of you all dressed up and sneaking in Shloer to your black-tie event! Life is funny isn't it? How things have changed for us!
Great list of seven habits for successful sobriety Choobie, thanks!
Today I am grateful for:
-amazing Chicago deep dish pizza
-chilling with my kids
-candles
-warm, sunny days in the Chi
-successful shopping trip
-continued success at work
-hope

Hey all
Woo-hoo, Thursday! I like Thursday's. My weekend feeling starts early nowadays. In anticipation of fun stuff too, rather than alcohol.
I have been having lots of "what was the point" thoughts this week about alcohol. Some analysis of what it added to work, life, meeting friends. The answer was nothing. I hope this continues, it's great affirmation of the choice I have made and proves it gets easier and the norm. Honestly, the thought of alcohol in my body and the reaction it sets of is very unappealing now to say it mildly.
Off for cross training today and some weight work. Great tip Ultra, I have been doing that on non running days. Hope your plan is going well.
Lovely to see you Grateful!
Pink - get persistent, hassle them. I bet you have that British default switch of "must not grumble" Call them and say the pain is unbearable and you need some help. xx
Have a great Thursday all!
