Thanks guys I'm going to revisit my todo list and just choose the most important tasks. I guess cleaning the car is not essential whereas staying SOBER is! Anything I can muster after that will be a bonus. Bathing would be nice though

Good morning to All! It's great to see new people joining.......WELCOME!!!!

It's now day 6 for me! Sleep was real good last night and the sweats are not as bad:-) I feel a bit more energy today and my stomach CRAMPS (hee hee) have left. I'm feeling confident going into my first weekend sober in quite awhile. I feel stronger everyday! I feel peace within for the first time in so long. Drinking never brought me that, in fact it never did any good to me only harm. Glad to FINALLY see it for what it is. A long line of drunkards in my family but it stops here with me and I pray it will not touch my children.
Wishing this great class a wonderful Sober weekend !!!!!!

Staying strong and focused......Standing

Jackdsmissus, yes, just do what you feel is essential, there are no right or wrongs I don't think, if you have to come here on SR, come here. Its a great place to be. I think the key is to be easy on ourselves right now.

New here and on day 8.
I'm mainly an evening wine drinker...usually half a bottle per day. On the weekends sometimes (usually) a full bottle. I can stop myself at that and avoid a hangover, but I'm tired of spending all my free time drunk. It's my reward for a long day at work, it's my consolation when life is stressful, I disappear in it when I don't feel like being present, and I cannot imagine social occasions without it.

I started drinking at a young age, so I feel like I have to relearn how to live. I'll deal with that later...
for now I'm just trying to get over these cravings every evening!! It's Friday 5:30 after a long week. This is not fun.

I hope you all are enjoying yourselves more than I am!!! Congratulations to everyone who has made it through these 9 days.

Evening all hope all doing ok?

I managed to swerve the usual Friday evening pub drinks with colleagues. My boss asked if I was going and when I told him I was going dry for January he fell about laughing...Humpf!!

Got home and started to bake a cake of all things...but I have to admit the cravings were pretty strong. Got through it by distraction...

Baking a cake sounds like a great idea to keep busy. Eating it is even better...probably helps if you are having cravings for a drink like I am.

I bought a juicer and I've been making juice all week. Gives me something to do. I made one horrible batch with broccoli...tasted awful but I drank it anyway.

Dax are the cravings going away at 2 weeks? Just wondering how long it takes. When I quit smoking 15 years ago, it took 2-3 weeks.

I always had a glass of wine by my side come 5:30..... Iam on day 5 and I could not have made it with a cup of hot green tea by my side at all time ... Give it a try ... It's something in the hand and it's comforting as well to me .... I hope we all stay strong thur the weekend

They certainly have lessened immensely. I get hit periodically, but shorter duration. I can go full days without craving. It's definitely getting better for me.

How has it been for you? Anything working to get through them (besides bearing it)?

Oh, looks like everyone is doing quite well.

Just about to go to bed so day 9 finished for me, had a surprise turn around today, was doing a dinner for my parents this evening and went to the shop to get some drinks, I actually looked at the Shloer today and instead of going, "pfft that is expensive for a soft drink" I went "Cool, it is on offer I can get four 750ml bottles for the price of one 750ml bottle of wine"

I am still in shock with myself.

Good Luck everyone for the weekend, I know personally it will be my biggest struggle.

Saturday morning here too, I'm at work all morning.

Day 1 Done & Dusted!

Pretty tired this morning, probably from staying up late watching 'Beverly Hills Cop 2'. Still a classic!

Now for Day 2, hope it's just as easy as Day 1

Hi Everyone time for me to join a new class. Had close to 3 months and decided a drink was an OK idea.

I might be a slow learner when it comes to NOT drinking. But i'm here to commit to sobriety once more.

Today marks my 4th day of being sober. Glad to be here.
