Our winter wonderland continues...we got about 3 inches of new snow yesterday and it's 4F with a windchill of -25F. A lot of schools have been cancelled for the second day in a row. The good news is that we'll start warming into the 20s by Sunday.

hellovers, dusting of snow last night made everything pretty again. I'm lurking waiting for concert ticket sales to open at 10 o'clock.
Last night door from cabinet under sink broke. Screw to top hinge just snapped. I asked the missus politely if she knew anything about it. WRONG! Even when I witness her doing something it was my imagination. She never did it.
It warmed up - about 20 degrees today. I may get out in the woods this afternoon, much more better than 5 degrees.

Hi all! Survived the gale force winds here in Scotland - although the whole street was covered in paper from all the 'wheelie' bins with paper for recycling being out for collection having been blown over in the early hours...arrrrgh! However, I was super impressed that it was all cleaned up by early afternoon by the local council

Been a little bit of a strange, not quite sure what I am doing today sort of day... ah well, it's the weekend very nearly!!

Some areas are getting decent amounts of rain, others not. Hope it turns around soon.
Have to say glad holidays are over, always has been a difficult time due to family issues. Anyway, glad I didn't pick up a drink and happy all of you are here. Take care everyone, stay warm, safe and sober.

I"m happy to say tomorrow I'll be OVER alcohol for 4 years 6 months. Speaking of cold, gonna be 26F here tonite. Job situation has taken a turn for the worse, but I'm not worried about goin back out and using and heck I was lookin for a job when I found this one, rootin for everyone.

Morning Overs, well it's 3.35am here. Just been watching Dui on TV from USA. That is scary. It's not something I would've watched when I drank. Makes me wonder what's out there on the roads.

Mags those DUIs are car crash tv aren't they? I flinch watching them but get engrossed by it. I never drank & drove once out my 20's but I did drive the next day.

The winds here have been bag again. But not so bad as the night before. Like you FG a lot of detritus to clear up but no damage as yet to us. More strong winds due for Monday, though only 'gale force' as opposed to 'Hurricaine force' this time! Hold onto your skirt FG!! This is so not kilt weather, we would have Scotsmen twirling through the sky like so many cocktails umbrellas!!

Drake now I am totally curious about your granny's sayings! I know about the witch and the upper female body part, and presume the brass relates to monkey nether parts? ( actually relates to ship equipment but that is bye the bye, but what of women's undergarments???? I need to know these things!!!

Off to womp for the morning ( if the bridge stays open long enough to cross) hopefully the snow blowing through later amounts to little. Omg we are all so weather obsessed at the moment! Anyone coming here will thing they've tripped onto a meteorological site by mistake!!

And im bk from the hospital had to wait over 2h but it was worth the wait the doc was exellent he cleaned out some debris in my ear and prescribed me some anti fungal tablets i have to take once a week

and he gave me more ear drops i think this may take a month or 2 but im a bit happier knowing it will be eradicated soon

Good day OVERS, 4 years 6 months sober right here, right now, and all of you deserve a thanks for helping it be that way. Talk about starting out the new year with a stupid attitude, I certainly did. Gotta call the boss's son today for trashing him Tuesday and honestly he didn't deserve it and to save a good job which I need. I'm about to get back to having a social life and the problem is the people who I will have the most contact with are all drunks. The big boss man and his son, and the 3 immediate co-workers I have all drink and drive, drink on the job, drink, drink, drink, and they have all already drank in my new home, which is about to be ready to move into and is owned by the big boss man, who has been a friend since the 1st grade. It is to my advantage to let it happen. I don't kid myself about this, more than 1 of our brothers and sisters here with numerous years of sobriety have slipped and if it happened to them it can happen to me. If y'all don't mind I'm gonna hang here in the Overs thread cause I'm gonna need help more than ever before. In my isolation I have done good but I'm gettin back into the real world and it's time to get serious about staying sober. I invite some advice, rootin for everyone.
