Gypsy, that's so great that you'll hit 2 months on Christmas!!! Try and take it easy if you can.

TEC - your holiday plans sound awesome! Maybe after we're done invading he19's Orlando trip, we'll all head your way! : )

Josharon -- it's nasty and drizzly here, too. And I just got back from a fun-filled (not) trip to Target to pick up a prescription, along with 10 zillion other happy people. Think I need to stay in the rest of the day.

Magellan - absolutely adore the SuperBowl of sober times!!! Hold tough, I know you're going to make it through!

Gypsy -- tsk tsk, disobeying doc's orders! Seriously, hope that foot starts feeling better soon.

Have a safe day, everyone!

Here's an article I read on Elephant Journal this morning... http://www.elephantjournal.com/2014/...ames-swanwick/ It's an interesting read. Anything positive is helpful in my opinion. I'm not sure if you need a subscription to read one article... Don't think so.

Yeah good read, gypsytears! I certainly hope I will make better decisions from now on!

Just a check-in. I'll probably be sticking close to SR the following days. Last year I was sticking too close to the wine...

Another thing. Last 14 days since I had my last drop, I've been sooooo hungry. I'm eating like never before. I don't know if this is normal or what's going on. With that said, when drinking of course I didn't need/couldn't have much. A bag of crisps and some cookies would do just fine...

I had dinner two hours ago and I'm already starving again! Crazy.

I've figured out what to do for xmas. My besty lives south of me, in a fairly remote part of the Northern Territory called Marrakai. She is coming to pick me up tomorrow and I'll spend a few days out there with them. We may go to Kakadu National Park for a day trip whilst I'm there. It's incredible out there, I lived there for 2 years. How lucky am I to live 2 1/2 hours drive from one of the seven wonders, and to have my wonderful supportive friend with me I'm feeling very grateful. Hope you're all ok!
Sounds like a great plan. Anxiety is what led me here. I had a panic attack Nov 1 and the dr said alcohol is a contributor. Guess who hasn't had a drink or a panic attack since???

Congrats on the foot gypsy and with two months around the corner things are looking up for you after a gloomy few weeks. You did great to stay sober.
Sounds a challenge Magellan, you need to get that beer out of the house ASAP after your FIL leaves.

Good luck everyone with Xmas day. Have a relaxing and peaceful day. Above all, don't drink.

Today was straight fwd for me. No cravings and actually found myself wondering about this group and how you are doing rather than drinking which was nice. I will spend the day at my sisters house and although she offered for us to stay over Xmas night I booked a bed and breakfast 20 miles away so I will need to drive so I know I will stay sober. Xmas eve tomorrow. Pubs are closed. So it will be a late walk along along the seafront and fish and chips and then off to bed.

Saw the hobbit movie with my son today. Fell asleep half way through. Soo boring but he liked it which is the main thing. He asked me how long I though I was asleep, I said only 30 seconds and he said I was snoring for over an hour. Ooops.....

Yeah I guess going cold turkey off the crutches was pushing it huh? My PT said walking around the big box hardware stores over the weekend wasn't a good idea either. Go figure!

Anyway... I will try to be good. But, you know me lol.

I find myself wondering about the group too Ubu. Way better than drinking or thinking about it . I also fall asleep during Hobbit related movies lol. An hour would be bliss, as they are not my thing either.

I enjoyed stepping away from Christmas prep to watch my daughter play her sport, basketball, and to watch a show with her, and bring my son shopping for a gift for hid Dad. I am forgetting the mess around me for the evening, and just enjoying that my kids have begun their vacation. I have been too stressed and grouchy the last few days.

Think it's just the build up to Xmas Groundhog and sometimes bed is just the best and safest place to be!
