I am so sorry about the tragedy in your Scotland. Prayers for the victims and those who mourn them.

December 23 is National Pfeffernusse Day! I love them, I have not ever made them myself. Here's some info from Foodimentary.com:
Pfeffernusse is a variant of German Lebkuchen, or gingerbread.
Pferffernusse cookies differ from regular German gingerbread is that they are rolled into balls and then glazed with powdered sugar after baking.
Pferffernusse literally means “pepper”.
A traditional Pfeffernusse cookie will be too hard to eat without dipping in liquid for the first few days.
The cookies do soften with age and more modern recipe adaptations have been made to make them soft from the start.
Here, from Maryland today. Having a great time with Mom and Dad- we are extra appreciative this year, all of us for Dad's medical recovery and me for my own here, as well.

If an SR member goes off the grid it is assumed the worst.
I am not going to drink. I am not at risk. I love you all and will check in on this thread. I just want to survive all the holiday talk - and my wrist is in a splint - so tpying isn't that ezy.
