Lunchtime check in! Yep...still sober although I got really frustrated thus morning with a task at work that I couldn't resolve and my immediate thought was to drink at lunch!!! Gah! Wtf???? I really wish that wasn't my first reaction to stress! And I've been on the verge of tears all day for no reason really! Weird day 13!

I've become a lone self Medication person, not realizing I was doing it until my wife would tell me that I drink all the time. Wasn't for her I'd be on my way down the drain. Especially considering how hard it is to totally abstain from drinking.

Welcome, Casey! And anyone else just starting or restarting their sobriety journey! Be proud of your day 1 or even your repeat day 1. Too many people never see it or never get back to it. You're already stronger than you think you are. We all can do this!
Day 7 here. Feeling kind of guilty as I've had to take narcotics since I had my groin cut into this morning. I'm hoping since my pain level is so high the pill will just take the edge off. Not looking to feel loopy. I'm doing my best to not let this derail my sobriety. It's been a rough week and I'm not looking to have to repeat these first 7 days again (for the 100 millionth time).
My thoughts are with you all. Have a wonderful rest of the day, friends.

Hey copper! Congrats on day 7! Sorry about the groin thing ouch! 
Hope you feel better soon! I so hear you about the pain pill thing...just stay focused on your sobriety and once you start feeling better dump any leftover pills ( no use in tempting yourself)

My body feels off and emotions running wild over little things. It will pass. I know it will.
I dont want to be a drunk-hungover mess for christmas. My kids deserve something better.

3 weeks today. My 21st.... I never thought this day would come on day 1 and it has. Perseverance, being strong, SR and looking ahead rather than back got me to this today. This is only the beginning I am going to keep going. I am not an AA person ,I am doing it by myself and with the support of SR and my partner.
I am happier than I have been for a long long time. If it gets better why would I ever go back to the old hideous way of life.. Thanks all for your support. Have a great day all...on my way to work!!

Hello all. Things went well today at the interview, will find out after the new year if I got it or not.
Hoping so. Almost 1 week in again.
