Class of March 2013 part 35
Dee has said it over and over on different threads and Marcher is right -- one day it all becomes "normal." It's new to me still and I know that I have a ways to go but I see it starting - and that's why I loved last weekend. For the first time in my life I felt "normal." Just...normal.
We, take your time. And it's ok if you guys don't get it right the first time -- it took me 3 houses to find the neighborhood that feels like "home." Just know that anywhere you live with J will be home.
Nice shoes, Trach! Love the holiday spirit
Shoes, we'll enjoy your visits when we get them. You're very loved here.

Good morning Marchers Haha North, love the pic.
Duff I like your thoughts on the new normal, it is nice when we move into that place where this new life we are living feels right and normal instead of something we are working towards. From what more experienced people have said on SR I get the feeling that we need to avoid complacency but at the same time accept that the new normal is our normal.
Although not drinking is normal to me now I find the smell of it still startles me, engendering a bit of anxiety sometimes. The other day I decanted my homemade vanilla extract for gifts and the smell had all my senses on alert. It was a lovely smell -- though I had no interest in consuming it -- but my senses were heightened by the alcohol aroma.
15 days...15 days...not that I'm counting.
Have a good day peeps.

North, love the visual :-)
Marcher, gee I couldn't possibly guess what happens in 15 days, lol!
Duff, so happy you are discovering the feeling of being normal. That's huge progress.
Gilmer, I "get" the one glass of sherry thing. My parents (normies) did the same thing every Saturday night. They were not happy when my ex asked for another but didn't say anything to him. It was awkward for me but I did realize that things worked differently in his family and he simply wasn't aware. So it really wasn't a big deal.

And I agree wehav, you and J will find just the right place.
I'm sorry she doesn't like the neighbourhood you have come to love.
I'm hoping you can find a new neighbourhood that you can grow into together.
15 days huh Marcher....I can only imagine how amazing that break will be.
Two weeks off a year is not a lot. I hope you and Mr Marcher have a wonderful time! ♥
I don't do Christmas....and to be honest, it all just takes me closer to my surgery. Which I am not really looking forward to. But yes, it will be good to put it behind me.
Love to all the Marchers,
V xx
Duff, thank you. That was the sweetest thing to say, and you and our venuscat make me feel a lot better. Thank you both.
Marcher, the sound of your homemade vanilla extract makes my mouth water. I bet it makes the best desserts... Funny it didn't remind me of booze one bit. What a difference almost 22 months makes...
Venus it makes perfect sense, but sorry you are dreading surgery. You will be fine, and you don't have to give the doctors the finger so you can give us all the finger in no time.

Just a quick hi I am running late, congrats Marcher and Budd
Good to see you Shoes
We, 1day, Duff, I witter on relentlessy, no wonder nuggets of wisdom occasionally crop up - I'm pike the Shakespeare typing monkeys! And occasionally the odd bit of information gets buried under the dross! Yes we are heading stateside in the new year for probably 2 years, ( all dependent on a visa which ought this time be straightforward) back to Boston and I will be able to get a work permit this time. I am looking forward to being able to work.
Must dash will catch up later. Hugs all xx

Since I turned 50, it seems like all of my teeth are rotting out of my head!
This weekend I broke a piece off of my back tooth on the upper right. Turns out it's a crown, and it broke all the way down to the tooth--and as if that weren't enough, there was a big infection at the root. Instant root canal!
I think it was challenging for the dentist: he kept grunting and saying "Unh!" and a machine kept beeping. Those weren't the sounds of victory!
Finally all of his efforts seemed to work and the machine was silent. I go back next week to finish the job.

Ouch! I feel for you, Gilmer! Having somewhere around 14 or 15 crowns in my mouth, I do feel your pain...
On a happier note, I will definitely be moving to the coast in late January. Not the best time of year to move, but the results should be worth it :-)
