We had a lovely Christmas..a great time of being with family, eating wonderful food and giving gifts.
My favorite moment was watching grandaughters open suitcases and figuring out they would be comming to visit me in Florida...second to that was everyone drinking milk with Xmas dinner!
17 months today!

Think I'm losing it! 16 months not 17! Remember when every day was monumental? Now I have to check a calendar....guess that's good!

I had a wonderful Christmas. Then on the 26th I had to have emergency surgery to have my gall bladder removed. It was extremely, terribly painful. But I'm home now and ok. I couldn't wait to get out of that hospital. They gave me some sort of IV meds for pain in there. I'm not even sure what but I'm not counting it as a problem. I dragged into ER and said "help me". I let them. After that things went pretty fast leading up to surgery. I must have been a pretty classic case.

I'm glad it wasn't something worse! I just have to take it easy for a few weeks.

Else, I'm so sorry to hear that, but glad you're doing all right. Was this a surgery that could be done with minimally invasive techniques or the Full Monty?

I hope your recovery is speedy and complete. Are back home now or still in CA?

Take GOOD care,
V.

They were able to use the scope so I only have 4 small wounds. I should recover quickly. I never made it to California. So I still haven't seen the new baby but I'm very grateful it wasn't something worse.

Amazing how far we have come. I remember rebelling when insurance co. Decided our new mothers would go home in two days! They did just fine..insurance co. Changed our medical inpatient care be it for the good or bad..
Loved the p I c of azaleas ? I posted them to my wallpaper! Thanks

Yes, I do remember when gall bladder surgery took a week! And I have a lot more sympathy for those patients now. Believe me. That was very painful. Short of childbirth it was the worst thing I've ever had. They gave me dilaudid. I wasn't about to say no at that point. But it seems to have worked out for the best. I'm home now on tylenol and doing fine. Although I'm tired, I'm feeling better all the time. Just 4 little scope incisions.

Else, hope you're feeling better and better. Glad you're at home resting.

Christmas seemed to come and go in a flash. Every year I say I'm going to start getting in the Christmas spirit earlier, and every year I don't start until around the 21st or so, haha, and then it's gone. We had a nice visit at home. I'm going back on Wednesday for a couple days because my sister with the kids is still there. My other sister will be coming back in town too. I love it when we can all be together...only happens a few times a year now.

So, ladies, you will be so proud of me--I am going shopping today. On the lookout for some boots and a couple of tops. Hopefully it will have calmed down down at the stores.

Yesterday I was supposed to start working on classes for next semester but instead I read my library book all day and it was bliss!

Hope you all are staying warm in those northern areas.

Heading up to our lake side camp in central Maine tomorrow . It's 5 degrees up there now!!
Bringing plenty of food and Pepsi ...
No New Years eve parties, and I'm happy about that. Plan a nice dinner by the wood stove .plan to work on my newest knitting project and a rug I'm hooking.
Have a happy new year all!

OL. I picture you up there in the snowy woods. I'm in the snowy woods, too, but I'm here all the time. It's been vey cold here, also. 10 below last night. I have a headache and not much energy. My poor Bob, he's trying but he's not much of a nurse or a housewife. I don't think I quite realized how much work I did around here. You should see this awful house.

But, oh well. I'm glad I wasn't sicker than I was. I'm gradually feeling better but I didn't expect to feel so worn out. But it's good to know I will feel better.

Happy New Year to all of you. This is our second New Years on this road. Hard to believe! Tomorrow we're planning on watching the Oregon Ducks play Florida. Go DUCKS!

Hope the recovery continues and is speedy, Else.

I'm doing something I really never do: watching a bowl game. a cousin of mine has a son who coaches for one of the teams so I've been watching trying to get a glimpse of him on the sidelines. Caught momentary sight of him. I think. Unfortunately, they just lost.

Yes, our second New Year's on this road! It is hard to believe. Some holidays are harder for me than others and this is one of them. Been fighting the blues today but did a more intense than usual workout after work and it seems to have helped a bit. Dreadfully cold here but supposed to warm up some tomorrow and I'll try to spend some time outdoors.

Hope to get in a movie or two over the four-day weekend. I went to "The Imitation Game" the other day and it was fairly good, but I am quite a history buff and the inaccuracies in the flick were hard for me to swallow. May see "Wild" tomorrow.

Am so grateful to be starting a new year here with you lovely people. You make life easier.
