Venus and Dee - that thread last night was a really positive thing for me. EndGame worked me over, and it wasn't flattering, but he was absolutely right. It gave me a lot to think about, and I posted over on the newcomers thread what fell out of my brain today. Sometimes I think of my brain like a vending machine. Someone puts a quarter in one side and something awesome comes out the other. EndGame put a big f*****g quarter in there, and it gave me something really useful. I owe him a big thanks. I make a lot more progress by taking constructive criticism than pretending I'm already doing everything right.

Thanks, Conquest and others: Took me over 8 hours to do the 50-miler.

I treated myself well today - got a massage, hung with a friend, got some groceries and cooked with my sister. I walked around too much, and the stairs kind of hurt, but I am still on a high and too antsy to sit indoors. And now, I'm going to bed early

Hey all! Checking in on this Sunday night. All went well with the gig last night. Didn't drink. Didn't care really. Was odd hanging in a bar for a few hours but what I noticed was the people I wanted to be around and talk to were people who really dont drink very much in general. These were friends who I thought or used to get **** drunk with in the past. It's amazing to see once again how little most folks consume. Had a great night. Pretty sure we rocked the place.

No problem with sobriety today after that accomplishment. Feeling content.

Good morning Octsober friends.

Busy day yeaterday, so just got round to reading your posts. So much love, caring and support. I'm so delighted to be an octsoberite.

Went trading yesterday. it was a very similarto last Thursday, when I had my "near miss" except htis time I was prepared. When we were packing up i asked Mrs S if she would be having a bottle of wine later. She said that she would very much like to unwind with a glass of wine. (And to self medicate, but I didn't bring that up!).

When we got to the store I said that I would go in.

I bought the groceries and spent a good 10 minutes in the wine aisle choosing a nice bottle of Sauvignon Blanc (New Zealand Malborough). Hissed at the aisle on the way out, proceeded to the check-out, paid and left.

I've identified that I buy alcohol almost on a whim. Because I'd prepared myself mentally, and kept the AV firmly in his place I found it to be no problem at all.

I'll be preparing the roll-call shortly. Last chance to get in.

Good morning day 58!!!! Good morning everyone! I am really craving a meeting. My daughter has half days of school which lands her pickup time right during my meeting and then I work during the night one. Grrrrrrr. AV has been hounding me all weekend. I was tired though. That may have had a lot to do with it. I've just been disconnected which is always a scary place.

Sorry Sparkos busy morning thankfully no hangover so clear headed. All quiet with me bit worried about next Saturday going to see a show and for a meal I know that one drink will be torture leaving me wanting more but friend doesn't want to drink alone and I am a people pleaser also friend is not a person I can confide in so Grrrr.
