DP - My niece in law who is only 6 years old was taken to hospital three months ago (life flighted) and had emergency surgery to remove a large brain tumour that developed over a short period of months. There had been no previous syptoms and it was only the quick reactions of her parents that saved her. It has subsequently turned out the tumour is cancerous and not all of it was removed, so it still remains to be seen how things will work out for her. Anyway, after the surgery, she was not 'waking up' and at one point her life support was going to be switched off if she had not improved over the weekend.... since then, she has, thanks to many prayers, woken up enough that she was moved to another hospital-type setting to receive further rehabilitation and was just recently allowed to go home. Apparently she giggles more at home and therefore it is felt that her overall recovery will be better there than in the hospital-type place, although she will be going back there very often for all sorts of therapy. She just recently got her 7th MRI since her original placement in hospital and hope is most definitely not lost. I can't be anymore specific about anything for several reasons: she is the niece of one of my sisters-in-law; this SIL is the SIL of my husband. I have not spoken to this SIL for over 2 years (basically, my husband's family do not contact me directly). I get all of my information on what the heck is going on from social media. My husband is rubbish at telling me anything and I got more information from my daughter (who is 9 years old) than I did from him. Arrrghhhh... this is kind of making me angry and upset, so hopefully this will be enough to update you!
^^^ Oh...what an ordeal for this sweet little girl.
Sending prayers for her love.
I hope she is able to make a full recovery.
Children can be very resilient yes? I really hope so.
Love V xx

Venus - yeah she is very resilient but I just read the latest news - she has an optimistically 10 - 15% chance of being 'cured' and will now have 6 days a week of radiation and chemotherapy... poor darling. More prayers are very very welcome This is an ultra rare form of cancer that no children normally ever have.
In other news, still sober and no compulsion to pick up so that's good

FG, what a complex story but so glad you're not picking up. My prayers to your niece. I thought she had more chances than the 10, 15% you mention. Poor girl. I remember she had a stunt so thankfully now she can laugh and exchange. Good luck!

Thanks for the link Zip, I am watching Scotland V Republic of Ireland at football just now (that's soccer to you heathen yanks!!) so will check it out after!
FG, families, who'd have'em eh? My ex SIL was a psycho nightmare, I am so happy she is no longer a part of my life, but it meant I lost contact with my 6 nephews & niece. I see them on FB now and again, but they don't know me although I was a big part of their lives as wee kids.
Itchy, how's the ear? I said how's the ear? sorry, couldn't resist, I really hope you aren't suffering or I will be guilt ridden at my jest being in poor taste!
