Class of February 2013 Part 11
Congratulations Venus & 1step!!!
Doing a bit better. I think I may be in for a few weeks of difficulty... holidays, plus some life decisions to make, plus a lot more work scheduled than I'm used to... all things that mess with my brain and whatever balances it's trying to learn to execute. But if nothing else I feel I've gotten much better at putting on my "OK, this is going to suck" hat and just moving forward (she says, hopefully).

Lost my post, dang it!
Off the boat. Super tired to re-write.
Instead: i am so excited for 2016 - seeing how we all build upon the foundations we've set in 2015. It is hard, but so worth it.
Congrats V! Congrats 1step!
Congrats Mel on making it to babys first xmas!
Congrats fantail on your first sober xmas!
Congrats Wehav on taking your recovery deeper this year.
Congrats to Dee for being here with unwavering service during a challenging time for many.
Lets keep it up!

Yep, what Venus said!
You guys are awesome. SE, thanks for the lovely shout out.
2015 was pretty dang awesome. I'm a little sad to let it go. But 2016 will be another year to enjoy recovery and keep getting emotionally, spiritually, physically healthier.

V - I am so proud of you and your resiliency. You stayed sober despite all the challenges. You are one tough cookie. Literally, when the going gets tough, I think of you and tell myself to channel some V energy. Hope you are on the other side of it for 2016 (((Hugs))))
I am a bit more rested heading into NYE. I am in luang prabang and happy that I made the jump. It is a sleepy town and I am feeling like recharging.
I managed to step on some sea urchins and have 50 spines in my feet and I can't really walk. Didn't get much sleep the last 4 nights. Woke up dehydrated this morning with a terrible headache and some food poisoning taking hold(dehydration mystery solved) But I am happy. Grateful to chill out and read a book in a coffee shop and just rest. I love it!
As a side - i read an article yesterday that emphasized knowing the 6 things that you do impressively well. On my list is being sober - and taking the steps everyday to deepen healing. It is something that i am so proud of. Indeed being sober opens up many opportunities that I wouldn't otherwise have. And I am only just beginning
This coming year I hope to make significant progress on emotional eating.
Happy New Year!
Xoxo

Lost my post again. Boo.
Summary - I'm feeling better after a week of chilling out. Still have 7 pesky spines in my feet but I can get around.
I've been catching up on things like facebook and I think this article is hilarious. If the link doesn't work, google Putin calendar + distractify. WOW.

Yeah, I didn't make the link title His poses are hilarious and so staged - complete with bad photoshop. It's like North Korea's old national website
I am wrapping up Laos. Still working on mindfulness, and Laos has been a great place to put my energy into that - everything moves slowly here. Today I had a great experience in Vang Vieng in a cave. The space was beautiful and I decided to try to meditate. It came quite easily today. After a bit I saw lots of light even though my eyes were closed. It kept getting brighter. Finally I opened my eyes to a lovely ray of light coming into the cave and illuminating a buddha statuary. It was beautiful.
Hard to capture the light, but I faintly got the rays. Here is a picture of it: Imgur: The most awesome images on the Internet
Yeah! first trip pic posted!!! woot woot! Let me know if it doesn't work
