I've never thought about werewolves being like alcoholics - or is that the other way around? Anyway, I've never seen the similarities before, but not that you mention it, I see it clearly. It's true for this alcoholic!

Congrats everyone on a sober weekend!!!

Counting down to Halloween night. The monsters are lining up: who’s next? Barging to the front, here come the dragons:

The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame,
Came whiffling through the tulgey wood,
And burbled as it came!

I suppose that was the first poem I ever learned by heart.

Despite the easy one-two one-two with which the vorpal blade goes snickersnack against Jabberwocky, most dragons are quite harmful and hard to kill. Think of the terrible dragon Smaug and his joyless destructive greed!

Nonetheless, dragons aren’t the worst among monsters. The damage they do is possibly not all due to malevolence. Possibly. I think I have a soft spot in my own armor over dragons because I read The Reluctant Dragon when I was a kid. Written in 1898 by Kenneth Grahame, who went on to write The Wind in the Willows, its dragon makes peace with St. George very sweetly.

May we all make peace with our individual dragons, and I’ll hope to see you tomorrow!

Our son was asked to lead the Meeting this morning. I was all misty eyed as he shared his ES& H, I am so proud of him! He's just a good soul ....not that I'm biased!
Time to sign in for the next 24 hours of my Recovery, thanks HP & AA.

You betcha! I think a lot of monsters are like us -- they start out reasonable but they have this thing, these talons, or fangs, this kinda crazy streak -- and then one day, that's all there is.

Can monsters recover? If I can, they can.

Who exactly decided the week should be divided into 5 days of work and two days of weekend instead of the other way around? I think the two of us need to have a chat.
