Gods are all around us. New York is full of spirits, and not all of them are major gods. Here are a few little and big demons that peer at you from cornices and corners in the city.
In Brooklyn on Montague Street there’s a Green Man, a spirit of nature, friendly or dangerous:
This is a jug-eared winged gnome at Irving Place downtown:
And my personal favorite is the head of Medusa on Sutton Place. Consider what it must be like to be Medusa – a look from you turns men to stone, and you have live snakes in your hair. Notice that some of the snakes bite the one who wears them. I feel sometimes like that.
I hope you all come back here tomorrow, with or without your personal demons!

I am back another day. The medicine makes me very sleepy. Glad I'm home! Just the sight of the sofa sucks me in, and I'm asleep in minutes! Getting better with every hour. There have been no cravings at all. I also have three sweet little dogs that give me comfort, and all the love I can handle.
And I would just love another 24 hours sober and pill free!

Its summer-tober here in the Nard hood, awsome weather.
The 24 hour plan taken one moment at a time relieves me of my addiction. Ahhhaaa relief, what a wonderful feeling it is. I'm grateful to be alive through the joys and the sorrows.
