Do you have a recovery animal or familiar spirit? It's interesting that there are dog lovers and dog owners, but cat people. I think we all know that Venus is a cat person, and I’m sure there are more among us here. I invite all the cat people on this thread to post their cat images and insights! In the meantime, here’s my feeble effort to do felis catus justice.
The domestic cat has existed in Europe, Asia, and Africa for thousands of years, and the cat is revered in many spiritual belief systems, particularly in ancient Egypt, where the goddess Bastet came to be represented as a woman with the head of a cat, or as a cat alone. Many peoples have believed that cats communicate constantly with the spirit world, and could serve for humans as a spirit guide if we could only understand their language. Their quiet and intensity of action, their independence and their beauty suggest a near divine disdain for the anxieties and pettiness of human existence. With a twitch of whiskers and a flick of ears or tail they indicate that they are only with us at their convenience, they’re participating at the same time in something infinitely more interesting and secret. When they grace us with their presence, they inspire meditation on magic and mystery. A group of cats is called a clowder or a glaring or a clutter. This I did not know!
Please send me your recovery animal by PM or post about it here. Still to come: parrot & cow.

Ha Ha, that little cartoon is representing my heat level today. The L.A. Times had a little blurb about California having set the record for the warmest first 8 months of the year since they started recording in 1895. I knew it wasn't just me!
Courage.... I'm a big cat lover, do 2 cats count as a clutter?? We have Sara Bella & Lucky Charms. They are usually by my side as I check in on SR, tonight is no exception.
Checking in for another 24 hours of recovery, thanks to my HP & AA.

7:38pm S. Oxnard CA, US. Not nearly as hot here, have a good cool coastal breeze to keep temps down. The high was 81F.
Swinging by to get another 24.

8:45 in the Pacific Northwest and completing Day 3!
Salgal: Stay tough. I am right with you in the struggles.
I started today with a great morning. Got up, cleaned my closet, hubby cleaned the garage. Went to the dump and Goodwill. Then started looking for lunch. Everywhere we eat is fraught with alcohol. But we kept passing them and then tried a new place--where I had a chicken/lemon/hummus pita with feta that was lovely. They sold beer too, but I ignored it.
Then I cooked dinner.
Later, speaking of salty ice cream, we will have our sea salt caramel gelato!
I was thinking at 4.** for four bars it was spendy, but that's $1.25 each. When hubby and I drink we spend $50-100 a night. And we shouldn't.
So, this won't be easy, and I have to keep making the right decisions, but 24 more will be very positive.
