Hugs and kisses Aussie--glad you're back. Get through today sober, go to bed sober, wake up sober. You know how to do this.

Mirage, welp, our stomach has a 2nd brain that is a reliable reporter of our health. If it's Stress, then your body is giving you an important message! Hope you get through this stretch OK! Love hearing about T's adventures, what a great kid who has a great mom.

The quick version of my story is that I'm back on my AntiD medicine FOREVER people. I stopped May 15, two good months. July 15 I felt some sad creeping in....and it just got worse and worse slowly. Last week was the bottom, plus I had a sinus infection. Started taking my medicine again two weeks ago, got antibiotics, saw my doctor yesterday for a LONNNNGGGGG talk.

The antibiotics are A MIRACLE FROM GOD ABOVE.

And so if my AntiD medicine.

It's LITERALLY like the Terminator....when his eyeball light goes out after he gets crushed....and you think he's dead. But then his eyeball light comes back and his optic computer screens come back on line. THAT'S how my depression feels. From dragging and complete fog.....to LIFE.

XOXOXOXOX

Today was fine. There were 11 3 yr olds. I didn't realize that it was their FIRST day of school! Ever see a 3 yr. old with separation anxiety on their first day of school?! lol no, they were fine. Three cried. One, I just picked up and held and patted her back while I did other stuff around the room, till she was ok. Then I had one little adorable chunky Korean boy who I'm not even sure can speak English. He went on my lap, I think he liked me rubbing his head. haha. The other teacher took the other one. All in all, I thought it went great. I really like the teacher, she's much better than the lady I worked with for the last 2 years. I liked the room and that their day is shorter. I had my kids 4 days a week for 3.5 hours, this is twice a week for 2.5. MUCH better for 3 year old, imo. Anyway, tomorrow are the 4 year olds, but 19 of them! Hopefully it'll go ok. Thank for the well wishes!!

Thanks frances, he really is a good kid. I'm already sad that he has to move out someday. lol He said he could be a real pain in the a** if that would help, but I thought it over and said nah. haha

That depression/medication is amazing. I wondered how it would go for you, going off of it. I'm not sure how that works, having not taken any. Like might you always need it, can you go off them later, etc. I love the way you do everything so smartly. You are very thoughtful and self-aware with what you do, I think that's a great quality. It's one of my favorite qualities in a person, I've realized. Self-awareness. You're so great at that and I think it really pays off for you. I'm proud that you keep trying things, you consult your doctor, you track your feelings and you make good decisions. It's very admirable, I do admire you.

I hope you like the new job.

Frances glad your meds are kicking in and your feeling better.

I saw the Doc yesterday and got my results from colonoscopy and all is good I have to have another in 5 years because they removed a polyp but that is just routine . Had a day out shopping mostly groceries but a did find a new handbag on sale that I liked. Lucky ME!!!

Double-yay-ing the good test results and a new purse!

Thanks for the support and kind words peeps. It means the world to me.

All I can say Mirage is that the medicine makes me feel "normal"--normally happy, normally energetic, normally interested in life. Being depressed is like riding a bike with flat tires and dragging a chain tied to a boulder. It's exhausting. It takes super-human effort to do the simplest things, then it's tempting to beat myself up for being so unproductive. Vicious, ugly mean cycle. Depression is a liar, just like booze. I think they are siblings.

Hey all, happy Friday! September 11 came and went yesterday, it's always such an emotional day. Sometimes I stay way clear of the coverage, videos, etc., but this year I watched a fair bit. Still blows my mind.

How are you doing, Aussie? Have you been able to get back on that horse? Have you thought about what happened? Thinking of you.

DAY 3 I know what happened Mirage, I simply gave up , I struggle with never being able to drink again , I like to drink, I had a lot going on , my Aunty died , she was the last one, leaving only my mum from the family. I wasn't going to post about it because it just sounds like an excuse , but it's what happened and it's done now and I need to get back on track.

Sept. 11 , I will never get that image out of my mind either , turned the tele on that morning and it was the first thing I saw, the first tower was just going down and then watched it all unfold live. It's a nasty world out there.

I'm sorry for your loss aussie.

I know there are many ugly nasty parts to the world but I try and focus on the good.

I think one of the ugliest and nastiest things loose in the world is addiction.

I reckon you deserve *way* more than doing something that's harming you, aussie

Good morning, friends.
My first day not teaching, in awhile! I was happy to end that assignment yesterday. They would have used me longer, but I was done and the work on our septic field starts today and I want to be home for that, just in case. I'm sad about the septic field...we have a nice sized backyard and they're digging the whole thing up to re-route the field. It was so green and plush, and I'm not sure when or if it'll ever look that good again. I don't think we will lay sod, too expensive. I suppose seeding, but we have a lot of shade back there. Anyhoo, there's a big bulldozer back there now and I can kiss my lawn goodbye.

Boys are busy. T auditioned for Ragtime and got an understudy part and a bunch of small ones, so he has lots to learn before mid November. B is trying out for his middle school production of The Music Man, next week. This weekend, I'll help him learn the song for the audition. We're adjusting to our early mornings. When I was drinking, I'd often go back to bed once I got them on the bus. I wasted so much time. Grateful to be sober. Have a great day, loves!

DAY 3 again for me. I will just keep trying.

Today is just picture perfect in my part of the world, blue skies, no wind and warm already (8.01 am) looks like summer is on the way.
Nothing new to report , school holidays start next week so I probably will be busy.

Hope you all have a great day.

I've been crazy-busy lately, but wanted to report that TUESDAY ...

was my 1 YEAR anniversary!!!!

My sister came and spent the day with me and attended my AA meeting and WW meeting with me, which was awesome. She's quite the talker, and subsequently really knows very little about my life. It was cool to share this with her. She brought me a really pretty bracelet, too, and one of my AA friends gave me flowers. I got my 1 year coin, and I'm celebrating by having a family portrait taken next weekend. I wanted to choose a reward that was meaningful and could be built upon, and since I'm able to spend so much more time with my family now and that's been the greatest benefit I've experienced to sobriety, I thought the pic was a brilliant idea. And, each year we can do another and celebrate again.

I'm so excited about this! I truly would NOT have imagined that I'd make it a whole year ... it was so freaking hard to go even 1 day. But, you know what? It's not as hard as it was. I'm learning to live life sober. AA has been incredible.

And I now have a sponsee.

Oh, and I get to preach at the Sunday night recovery church service, too. Life is good!
