Class of March 2011 Part 23
That must be horrible, I've never had one, I can't imagine. I'm glad you're not drinking, though. At least a panic attack won't hurt your liver!!
This was sort of funny. We had our xmas with D's side of the family yesterday, my in-laws, 10 of us, total. They don't really drink much, it never comes up, (they don't know I quit cuz they never really knew I drank), but yesterday we had a brunch at my mother in law's for xmas and she made a pitcher of mimosas. Had champagne flutes out, the whole 9 yards. So I said I would just have orange juice and I poured it in my flute so it looked like everyone else's glass, no one really noticing beyond my sister in law. Then, they kept changing seats! They were like "I'd better sit here, so you move there..." etc. It happened twice, so I had to keep picking up my virgin champagne flute and moving it all around the table, which sort of drew attention to me. Eventually my sister in law goes, "we're gonna get you drunk if it kills us!" lol! Again, they have no idea I had an issue, it was all just me not wanting a mimosa, but it was kinda funny that it started out all under the radar and eventually all eyes were on my moving this flute all over the table, ha!

Lol, me too. Sweating is for the birds! Not literally of course, I don't even think birds sweat. That's a stupid saying, "for the birds". What does that even mean?! Not much is for birds besides bird seed and flying. And hollow bones. Hollow bones are for the birds. We'd be alright if we had hollow bones, Dee. We wouldn't have to worry about exercise, we'd be pretty lightweight! Aaand now we've come full circle.
I actually moved my elliptical into the living room last night. I've been a slug for ... well ... pretty much my whole life. I need to start moving more, too. Maybe this will help. If anything, it will guilt me a little bit to see it sitting there gathering dust.

Working out also helps me stay sober. I'm 56 now & people think I'm in my late 40's...went down 2 pant sizes this year (don't hate me!)....but have not been to the gym since Christmas morning and I have been eating cookies like a relapsed Cookie Monster. My daughter showed up at the hospital Christmas nite & spent 24 hours with us. I could tell she was high the next morning. I told her I love her and when she's ready, I am here. But my son told me after sage left that she offered him some kind if sleeping pills because he is in pain & isn't sleeping well. Very upsetting. Son is now off dialysis, dodged another bullet. I go to a Sunday morning meeting at the hospital where he is. This morning he had a nurse bring him down in a wheelchair & he shared at the meeting. A blessing. Working an Alcothon New Year's Eve....on the planning committee etc...not a big fan of these kind of events, but, this time of year, doing service really has helped me get thru a strange holiday season. Here's to a better & brighter 2015 for us all
Lol aussie!
Happy New Year to all my SR friends! Thank you for another year of support and friendship. You all have been so important to me and are always there to help me when I need it. I'm very grateful to you. Thanks Dee, for being a great rock to so many and for making me smile so much.
Hope you all have a great new year...I'll be up north, hopefully doing some ice fishing and for sure sitting by the fire. We'll ring in the new year by counting down with the New York crowd on tv and toasting whatever happens to be in our glasses, which for most of us will be alcohol free. No pressures, just a relaxing night playing games and watching the festivities. See you in 2015, let's make it a great one!
xoxo

Happy New Year everyone.
Glad to have made it through. The neighbours partied hard (tourists) and I am watching them now, still drinking , it's 7.13 am here , they are drinking and diving into the river from the jetty and swimming , very dangerous combination when you have been at it all night.
I hope this year brings happiness to you all.
Thanks for being here for me.

Must. Bump. Thread.
Hope my friends are all doing well! Just the usual life stuff here. B is getting braces next week, that's pretty exciting. And the painters are supposed to start next week, cross your fingers! We had a grand time up north. The lake was frozen, but no snow so getting out there was pretty slippery. Very relaxing and I unplugged so it felt good to sit by the fire and play board games. I'm trying to cut out or at least way down my sugar and carb intake. It's hard, I'm craving big time. I'd kill someone for a candy bar right now. lol Makes ya glad you're not here, doesn't it?
Take care gang...hope today finds you sober and happy!
