Good afternoon, everyone! Just a little check in to say hello.

ArgentOfSilvae, sorry to hear you slipped, I'm so glad you're back with us, though. We're here for you.

MrFixit, hope your visit to the eye doctor goes well.

I'm still doing fine. Been organising my room this afternoon with the Commonwealth Games on TV on the background.

Our weather has turned nice and sunny and warm again after the cool rain yesterday, though thankfully it's not as hot and steamy as last week. I'm not sure how long it's to last.

Hello to everyone and thanks for being there and being a great group.

Just to add, I'm not very good at replying to everyone individually, but I do read every post and am thinking of all of you.

Good morning All!

Congratulations to those who made it through the weekend and are starting Monday off strong. Day 22 for me today.

For those who caved this weekend, great to see you pick right back up. Learn from the fall and become stronger for when the trigger occurs again; rest assured it will, again and again.

Welcome Oldskool and good luck MrFixit at the Dr.

Stay strong Julyers; great class!

Made it through a very ugly Sunday...my soon-to-be-ex was messing with my mind again; it was all I could do to refrain from heading to the liquor store (a 10-minute bike ride from my place). I thought about how crappy I'd feel today if I drank, and got some support from a very close friend.

Here it is Monday, with no hangover! *****!!

Looks like I am starting from 0 again, after approximately four months. Incredibly shameful but as terrible as I feel now I don't want it to be even worse.

Hang in there Armitage. Hope you can skip over the shame soon. I'm new again too after flapping around for over a year.

Welcome, Armitage. It may be day 1 again but you're not starting from scratch. You'll have learnt a great deal in that four months that will help you going forward

I'm also back at day 1 today. We borrowed my aunt's condo in Chicago for the weekend, and the place is stocked to the gills with booze. I knew before I walked in the door that I was going to do it, sad but true. I didn't think I would only have one or two; I knew I was going to get trashed. We still did all the things that we were planning on doing, but I spent most of yesterday stumbling around instead of really being present with my family.

I knew that I wasn't strong enough to be in a condo filled with booze, and also to be on a mini-vacation surrounded by booze. So I am not going to put myself into a situation like that again until I am certain that I can handle it. We are going camping in the middle of August. I can make the decision about what will be there and what will not, so we will not buy any booze to bring with. I want to play with my kids and be in the moment, enjoying my time with them. I'm not going to let myself down again.

Well done, JD4010.

Sorry, Armitage and noexcuse. Armitage, as HeadLump said, you must have learnt so much on your 4 months' sober, all that is not lost. Noexcuse, crikey, that sounds like a tough situation. It's good that for your camping trip you can choose what's there and what's not.

Thinking of you all.

Things still going well here. I'm still enjoying watching the Commonwealth Games. Lots of athletics tonight which is my favourite.

I'm on day 6, kinda hard to believe I'm there especially after the weekend when the temptation to drink is probably bigger. I feel good about things

welcome back armitage and noexcuse

I think the bottom line is we need to be prepared to make different choices...sometimes those choices will be hard ones and we won' like them at the time,. but they're *so* worth it

I hope you got good news Mr F
