11:09 am and I am in for another sober 24 hours.
So I was enjoying my morning coffee on the front porch and that little hen came out of the blue in my yard and decided she liked me and proceeded to jump on my laps and cuddle. She even took a little catnap while I was petting her.
I finally remembered that one of my neighbors practice free range urban farming (his chicken are very well treated, live in the yard and have nice little hen houses) so I brought her home.
I took some picts and made a meme out of it rather than post my usual quote of the day.
This is a blessing of sobriety, being able to enjoy simple little things. I have the next few days off and if I was still drinking, I would be locked inside in the dark, depressed and drinking rather than out on the front porch, bright and early, meeting a friendly neighborhood chicken.
If you are new: Sobriety IS worth it.
