Very thankful to have a day without ...
...ruining my family relations, making a fool out of myself and the whole stinking lot of being soused daily.

Hi everyone! I hope people are enjoying a pleasant weekend. Thoughts go out to BarbieKen who’s nursing her husband and Thirdtime on day 3.
Congratulations to today’s milestoner: Michael66!

I used to think I had to work on staying sober. It was hard, it was a slogging, uphill battle. Now I’m learning to let sobriety work on me. I don’t drink, life happens, and I get to participate.

I enjoy reading that some of you are getting rain. Our little town has been buying water, since the wells ran dry. Now, I read the City Council wants residents to cut back usage 30%. My husband and I went to our Big Book Study this morning. So, that was very nice to be able to see our friends. Lots of love.
I'll be checking in for my next 24 hours of recovery, thanks HP & AA.
congratulations Michael66!

12amET...md; doc appt went well & got referral for pain clinic. He said I should get second opinion from another doc on whether I'll be able to ever run again. That was so encouraging it made my day!! Hey SR! If you can run, even if its not far, please kiss that ground & thank the good Lord that you can. I haven't for 4 yrs & counting but after this hardware is removed....yeahhh- will b off to the races;& no I don't mean downing the booze!
To close out the day, walked bout 3 miles to mtg coz needed it plus transit is messed up on wknds but there was a New Jersey couple that dropped by & lady's brother had recently passed from heart attack combining alc & cocaine for length of time. She cried but had great recovery story. Knew I was there for a reason & lets just say my "problems" sounded minuscule after tonite
24 more pls as we start off a new wk

I'm checking in at 9:40 p.m, here from the Mojave. The heat continues. Thank goodness for A/C. That's near the top of my gratitude list. Number 1 on that list, is getting another 24 hours, please?
Thank you, all,
michaels
Thank you, all,

if he doesn't know first hand about addiction, that's amazing cos he's nailed it in this song. 'The Demon In Me'.
