Morning Bob! Hi to everyone else. Snoozy, also wondering how your Dr appt went??

Had a really nice weekend. Was able to get out and exercise both mornings, had a date night with hubby on Sat night and then last night we went to Mom's for her homemade spaghetti/meatballs to celebrate my SIL's bd. She is only 27, grrr. Seems like so long ago that I was 27 - that's when I think I really started enjoying my wine. It all started out so normal - a glass or 2 here and there - could take it or leave it. By the time I turned 30 it had developed into a problem. Bottle a night, drinking alone, etc. Then I functioned pretty well and hid it from everyone for most of my 30's. At least now, at 42, I am free from it all and much happier with my life. Sorry, not sure how I got on that tangent. Thought/gratitude for the day, I guess

Oh Ladybug...I hear you though...I feel wistful at times....how did 34-40ish go by sooo fast?

Seems I was only just getting accustomed to being in my 30s, then 40s....o girl, time to brace for 50s.

Well, I'm only 45, but F--k (yes, it deserves a curse word!).....the past 10 years have freaking flown. :/

Yeah Croissant, it make me sad to think how I wasted most of my 30's (with the exception of being pregnant with my daughter) being obsessed with alcohol. AND to think of all the money I wasted ....All good things to remember when a glass of wine starts sounding good, huh?

Oh yeah, I do not want to look back on my 40s the same as my 30s.

Too close for comfort what was nearly lost.

I can't even imagine what shape I'd be in if I'd have kept drinking the way I was.

Well, I guess pretty soon I'd have been like the homeless man who screams at me for money each day when I walk past him.

Life is fragile. My friend went downhill so fast towards the end...I could see I was skating close myself.

Hiya Guys , i hear what you are saying .

I have no idea where my 40s went ...the best time of my life was my 30s when all my girls were little , then when Holly started school when i was 40 i filled the void i guess . I missed being with them all day .

But that was then and this is now and I'm just thankful i have the grandchildren now , maybe they were here to save me , who knows !

I feel so happy when Rhyleigh comes to stay , i have purpose and so much love to give her .

I will never let that poison get a hold of me again , ever .

I had a horrendous dream last night , it was really disturbing . I drank a whole bottle of Khalua and felt drunk when i woke up ...blegh !

I was so disappointed with myself , OMG was i relieved it was a dream !

I haven't had cravings for months and i want it to stay that way .

I rang today and my bloods weren't ready so I'm meeting my doc Wed for the results .
Thanks for asking guys :-)

Well ladybug everywhere i go in the shops at the moment , i see ladybirds , it must be the new in thing. Like the frangipanis were a while back etc .

So darn cute they are tho xx

Got any more lovely pics to post Bob? I put that butterfly one as my wallpaper , i like to change it all the time , it really makes me smile when i see that , thanks for sharing it xx

Leshar , you must let us know how you are doing . We are all waiting with baited breath lol

Hiya Dee glad you had a nice birthday yesterday

Hiya Pete , Humbug , Lulu , Fbl , whiterunsober , TnRobert ( congrats on your year ;-) )

NCG , EternalQ , Huntington , Nikki , and anyone else i may have missed xxx

I was reading some of Doggonecarl's blogs today, where he talks about going into your second year being like the transition from 90 days to 180 days. I think you have some good times ahead Snoozy.

I agree....where did the last month go?????

Hi everyone,

I haven't posted because I've nothing new to report. I feel exhausted most of the time. I'm walking every day. Mood still very low. Play is very tiring. Struggling with AA, although I'm going to meetings.

Hey Leshar, when will this play be over with? I think it is great you are walking every day. It always seems to make me feel better. Thanks for checking in with us. Always great to hear from you

Wow, that's like a whole Honeymoon all over again!

I bet it's quiet....as in, a little empty...because she's not there. You should take your lovely wife out for dinner or a movie.

Oh - Maybe she wants her own time out!

Hey everyone,

So I'm on Day 9 now.. feel pretty good. I had some definite cravings this past weekend but I didn't give in so I'll chalk that up to being a success. I have a wedding coming up this weekend so I'm kind of nervous about that, but I am committed and I won't cave. I'm not at a point yet where I've been telling people that I no longer quit, so I am planning on telling everyone I'm on antibiotics and am not able to drink. This wedding will be a huge party and I don't really want to be standing out because I'm not drinking.. I know people usually say that we only notice people who aren't drinking because we're addicts, but I come from a HUGE family of alcoholics haha.. so it will definitely go noticed and I'll be razzed about it. Saying I'm on antibiotics will be a legitimate excuse, and it will get me through the weekend (hopefully). Anyway, just thought I'd give an update. Have a great day everyone.

HockeyGuy,

Just so you know this is the 2013 July class.
You should be in the 2014 class my friend.

With that said.
Weddings can be kind of tough.
But,if it starts to bother you too much and you can skip it or leave early,do it.
You are very early in you sobriety.
