The 24 Hour Club Sign Up Sheet, Part 48, All Are Welcome!
Planning for a restful and healing 24 hours sober today.
I had hernia surgery yesterday and all went well. Doc gave me some mild narcotics for pain. I don't think that will be a trigger, since my DOC is alcohol.
This week marks 30 days without tobacco. Hope to say the same about alcohol soon!

I'd like to share a post by LonelyShadow who is coming up on 2 months soon.
He posted it in February Class and has given me permission to repost it in the club.
And He shared...
I've tried before to simply eliminate alcohol but didn't do anything else to support that
decision.
It makes no sense if you look at it logically, I should of realized that if I wanted to make
a change I needed to make many changes.
To bring back the metaphor about weight training it's like expecting to go into the gym
once a week and do one set of bicep curls, then keep doing that week in week out
with no change happening and standing their looking in the mirror scratching your head
as to why nothing's happening (I've done this often).
The rewards only come with persistent dedication, educating yourself and permanent
lifestyle changes that support your goals. And if it's not working, don't give up, just
find out why it's not working and KEEP. MOVING. FORWARD.
It's not an easy path to take, and the sad fact is that many will not understand, and
therefore will be unable to support the decision to live a sober life.
We have to dig deep, deep down and find the strength to make the decisions we need
to in order to keep going.
Hope all are strong out there today
Peace and love
LonelyShadow

I'm so glad that my words may have helped others, it's very humbling for me, thank you Deeker!
I have an immense amount of respect for all users on this forum, I was in a terrible place when I joined this forum, so although my username is LonelyShadow, I no longer feel so Lonely, knowing that so many are out there fighting the good fight with me.
Peace and strength to all.

Hey everyone, I'm still here and still sober. In fact I'm only a few days away from a 60 Day chip. It's been a long time since I've stayed sober this long! I'm not bragging... just grateful!
Thanks for getting me aboard Deek. I'm in for 24 more!!!!
