Class of September 2013 - Part 28
College days at the University was pretty much of a booze fest. I was on my sorority's beer drinking team - at 19 years old! Anchor too, which meant I could guzzle the fastest....we took lots of tests to choose the order. Gee - not a good idea in retrospect!
Zero adult supervision and the college seemed to turn a blind eye. Hope its different now.

~~Food For Thought ~ Weekend Challenge~~
~~LIFE REWARDS ACTION~~
Weekend Challenge: Measure actions, not outcomes Focusing on the big picture all the time can be overwhelming and frustrating. So don't. Instead focus on the smaller actions that will get you to where you want to be. "Today I'm going to workout." "Today I'm going to eat 3 meals Today I'm going to make a plan for the week, month etc." "This weekend I'm going to hire a trainer to help me."
You can control actions. Actions that are practiced daily quickly become habits. These habits soon build up and lead to amazing results. Remember that life rewards action...now get to it this weekend!!!
~Healthy Snacks~
Live on the edge. Playing safe is not an option. Place all bets on you!! It's your time to win. Trust yourself. Cast away fear, and kick doubt to the curb. Make the decision to call your own shots.
Refuse to be taken hostage by your own mind. Surround yourself with "can do" energy, with people and stories of people, who are actively seeking to create, imagine, reinvent, and change their lives. Develop a curiosity about your own limits.
Expand your mindset by reading something everyday that stretches your imagination and strengthens your spirit. Move forward, go around, look ahead and stretch above your present circumstances. They do not define you or own you. You've gotta be HUNGRY to create the next extraordinary version of you and to live your best life ever!

My oldest daughter just received her learner's permit to drive, so today was our first day of practice. I can't remember when I've wanted a drink more, than I want one right now. :help
So instead I'm going to sit here at my happy place and talk to you guys. Need to breathe deep and let my heart rate slow down.
Oh my....at one point we rolled right into oncoming traffic and that's about when I screamed. I am not a screamer, but I saw a hospital visit in our future.
OK, husband gets next brush with death. I'm done with driver's education for today.

This made me smile, so I'll share a smile with you guys. Cow games...

One of my favorite movies is Chris Farley's "Tommy Boy" and that's the only reason I sort of know what it is. Hope it doesn't hurt the cows ~ it must feel weird to wake up wondering "what the hay?" (pun intended)
Timber!!!
Timber!!!
Morning all, just checking in. Its still sunny here, thankfully.
Lillian: teaching your kid to drive is a terrifying experience. Also, the mum/daughter relationship gets a battering. Better to leave it with the dad ! Both my wife and my sis always emerge ashen faced and about 100 years older after a driving lesson with the kids.
Fix Fishy: I thought cow tipping only happened in the movies !
Renarde: glad you enjoyed the AA meeting ! Give it a shot, remember to: keep an open mind; look fir similarities and not differences in shares; and take the good (leave the bad).
Have a great day/evening all !

Talking about Uni (college) days reminds me that I wasnt much of a drinker. I was a complete dope fiend. Drinking didnt really interest me as I didnt enjoy the taste. Also, I vaguely knew there were other drugs around but I had no idea as to how to buy them. Didnt have the desire anyway. Funny how now the smell of dope makes me physically sick.
LG - I almost killed me and my dad a couple of times while practicing with a learner's permit! Once, making a right turn I pulled out in front of a bus going full speed and ended up on the sidewalk. Another time I made a left turn into the wrong lane (the oncoming traffic turning lane)!
My mom refused to deal with the stress of teaching me so she hired a driving instructor and made me complete a certain number of hours with him in one of those cars with an "emergency instructor brake" on the passenger side before I was allowed to take my driving test.
My dad could handle the stress and was able to have a sense of humor about our near-death experiences, but that instructor prevented many arguments between me and my mom!
