Peace Of Mind
I guess I have learned something important over the last year , I can’t
change lives, nor really environment, regardless of my good intentions
and energy. People will continue to do what they do.
I used to let the actions or words or mere glances of others trigger my
behavior, my feelings, my attitude and my whole day.
Well I'll be honest I don't totally have this down yet but I recognize it
a lot sooner and am able to detach more quickly.
I finally realized that I could be the one to decide exactly who I would
bring into my thoughts and life each day.
How others act does not need to affect how I think or act. I am completely
powerless over other people.
I don't have to let the reactions of others take over my life and I can learn to
respect others opinions while maintaining my own perspective and integrity.
It's not easy though but I am a whole lot happier when I do this.
Coming to understand and eventually appreciate and accept my powerlessness
over people, places, and things is actually very freeing.
Do I get annoyed? Yes, often.
Do I still react before thinking? All the time.
But I am learning what upsets my peace of mind and I really like having peace of mind.

Holy mole did I forget to sign in last night(!?!? Oops!
Well here we go... Wehav2day signing in for another 24 hours of sober goodness.
So close to a year now I can almost taste it. (And it tastes like a frosty coke zero lol)

Bobbi here checking in for another 24 hours of recovery. Crazy, loud, meeting today...wow! Our secty announced we had over 70 people in the room! Huge!! The lead person was a young woman who was so excited on getting 1 year.....just wonderful to feel that from another alcoholic/addict.
