Hello , hope you all are having a very blessed day! So glad you stopped in. If you
are new, what we do is sign up and commit to stay clean and sober the the next
24 Hours.
Just post your time and commit! Please post just once daily on this thread as this
is mainly a list that will make up our final roster.

It's A Journey
A really big part of my problem living in active addiction was always about trying to
control everything and everyone. It’s just not possible, and I believe that is where
a lot of my problems stem from.
The inability to control and have things my way caused me great irritability and complete
and total discontentment. Yet I still try to do it at times.
I am feeling total powerlessness over a situation at my work. I want to see change, I of
course think I know what the boss needs to do.
But I can't change a thing. I am irritable.
What do we do when we feel irritable and discontent?
We drink, we drug, we escape, we shop, we eat.
I ate a ton of chocolate over the last 24 hours. I am bloated and sick to my stomach.
But when I look closely I see that many of these feelings are brought on by my
very own thinking.
The Ego if you will. Believing I know what is best for everyone and everything around
me.
So recovery in part is really about learning to recognize these thoughts and behaviors
that get in the way of our emotional and spiritual growth, and rooting them out.
It is really hard and for me I usually have to go through a hard lesson in which my ego is
humbly defeated before I am willing to give up control. Which is really just an illusion anyways.
