Please sign up and join us for 24 more hours clean and sober! Post your

Shame
You know, it's not good to hang on to feelings of shame and guilt and still hope to
get well.
I ask myself where did these feelings begin?
Was I treated badly by people, I need to be honest about what happened so I can
resolve it and move on. Maybe I need a therapist.
Have I acted disrespectfully myself?
Yah probably a million times. At some point I need to take a thorough inventory of my
wrong doings, admit them, make repairs when I can, and let them go.
Facing our shame is really difficult. I used to think I was the only one who carried this
great shame around.
But that is untrue and that is how I can isolate myself.
If you carry shame, you don't have to carry it alone. We have all felt it, especially looking
back upon our drinking and drugging careers.
Share how you are feeling with someone, preferably another alcoholic or addict in recovery
who understands.
For we can really empathize.
Just remember that you are not alone and you don't ever have to feel that way again .
Let's create days we are really proud of, days we are not ashamed of! We can start right now.
Today Keep it simple, do not drink or drug for this 24 hours. You can do it if you really
try and reach out here in SR before you reach for a drink or drug.
By doing that you will create a day you are proud of.

I learn something this past few days, I being struggling and I though going back to drinking will be fine but now I have another voice that is asking is really what I want that all I lost in the past wasn't enough and I really want to lose the love and respect of my children, and by the grace of God I still sober and clean.
now I want another 24 hrs of sobriety.
