To St Thomas - my now "Paradise Lost"

It is such a difficult transition
The freezing cold wants my total submission
I miss paradise
nothing else will suffice
If I were only a magician

My mornings at Barefoot Buddha (for coffee)
Then the beach had me all kumbaya
AA meetings were next
then crossfit - better than sex
Fix dinner, GREAT DAY...dah

Guess I've fallen behind once again
To keep up I would need a twin
But this weekend I will
Get a limerick fill
and discover where you all have been

If everyone were Alpha Dog
What a scrap there'd be,
We'd fight all day for 'management'
And have no time to 'stop, and see'

So some of us are further down
And happy in our place
Let those who wish, to charge ahead

Too plain, too plump, too dull
But in my chosen circle
I feel my life is full

For Elsie, I have you, my dear
A friend who always cares
And DG, Snoozy, Zero now

In real life too I have my man
Neither rich or pretty
And though he never cleans the loo
At least I find him witty

So Elsie, never worry sweet
That you'll never hold top spot
For do you want to work so hard
Then fight for all you've got?

Worried that another, younger,
Prettier sweet thing
Will come and wow all those around
For then you'd feel the sting

Of have all the world afore
So easy, others gasp
Only for age and time
To steal it from your grasp

Don't judge yourself by others, sweet
You are as you were made
So find a way to love your life
So happy you'd never trade!

I think at times we all feel worth a B
Heck, sometimes I rate myself an F or a D
But everyone here
Rates much higher than beer
On that I think we all can agree

Distracting myself on SR
Beats drinking in any old bar
And if this is an addiction
It's a better affliction
Than sailing off a cliff in my car

There came a knock at my back door
That scared me a bit and caused me a fright.
I cringed and slowly I sank to the floor
And crawled to the window to try and catch sight
Of whom it might be, out there, in weather so sore.
The figure was murky. There wasn't much light
So what could I do, snow continued to pour,
But let him in. He was in quite a plight.
Turns out it was hubby, froze to the core,
Put his truck in a ditch. It just wasn't right.
He had to slog home. %€$&@!? Did he ever roar!
Calm down, my sweet, look at the bright,
Your ok. I'm ok, there could be much more
To worry about than winters' cold bite.
This is nothing but adventure, although quite a bore.
We held together, each to the other, tight.
