I hope everyone is doing good and getting ready for the holidays. I have been doing so so but staying busy and of course still sober.

Hi everyone. I feel awful I haven't been on here in forever. Still sober and still pregnant! Almost 19 weeks pregnant. We found out today we're having a girl!! We're going to tell the family what we're having at Christmas with ornaments I ordered. So far the pregnancy has been going extremely well, I had a slight risk show up because of a protein level in my urine but the OB says it's nothing to worry about and they're just going to monitor it. I feel great, life is good and I miss you all. I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas!!

Sitting here getting all dewy-eyed about Christmas. I've always loved Christmas (I'm a three-year-old at heart!) but this year my sense of love and appreciation for everyone and everything has gone through the roof - and, yes, I'm liking and appreciating myself too, which is a brand new feeling!

I hope all my lovely Januarians have a fabulous weekend - last one before Christmas - Yay!!!

I generally do poorly around the holidays but so far so good, I am actually in good spirits and not depressed. I wanted to share my cell phone's home screen with the rest of you: It pretty much sums up my take on Christmas:

That's hilarious, Carlotta! I'm stealing it to send to a couple of friends! Thanks for posting it. I hope you survive the holidays with sobriety and sanity intact. Give yourself permission to lounge around and watch the tube! (Unless that depresses you further)...

Seasons Greetings SR Friends! I have not enjoyed the holiday hustle and bustle this much in decades! I admit there have been moments of anxiety and confusion, but I am grateful for the many new sober friends I have to help. I will have 1 year on January 3 and approach this date with a bit of fear and trepidation. It is almost hard to believe. My thoughts frequently return to what my life was like 1 year ago.

The booze in our house stays locked up during the day, and I am quite comfortable with my family opening it for happy hour. I will need to really work out with a vengeance after the holidays as cookies and chocolate have been quite a joy to bake, make and EAT! My family loves my new calm happy self.

Thinking of all of you, both new and old SR friends and wishing you many serene, peaceful moments during this lovely season.
