Class of January 2013 Part 11
Congrats to Head Lump and Liz as you embark upon your 12th month. 360 days sober for me.
I have been asked to lead 2 meetings as an observance of my one year of sobriety. I am more comfortable sharing in large groups that I was last January, but leading one seems a bit daunting. It is time, though. I have no trouble speaking to large groups of children, as it is my profession. Large groups of adults are another matter. However, I feel "at home" in these support groups. The prospect of leading has inspired me to do more reading, meditating and to seek more spiritual support, and this is a good thing.

I'm sure you'll be great, PW. Your friends in the group will encourage you as you begin to speak, and you'll be off and rolling. Stop in and let us know how it goes! Congratulations on almost a year!

Hi Everyone -- I hope you've all had a wonderful holiday season. Things are good in this corner of the world -- indeed, 11 months and 2 days without a glass of wine and feeling great! Thanks for the good wishes. I don't participate here very often anymore, but will never forget that this January thread was instrumental in making the switch to a booze-free life. :-) Happy New Year to you all! L.
If someone had told me that I would feel this great a year ago I would have thought they were out of their mind. Feeling unbelievably grateful for this new life.
Liz, wonderful to hear from you!

The success I've had with alcohol has encouraged me to tackle another addiction, so I feel doubly blessed and grateful

Hello Januarians,
Last year on December 31, I stopped drinking and started posting on this thread. I just wanted to say that tomorrow, I'll have my 1 year of sobriety. I'm very happy with this. I also wanted to say a special hello to everyone I met here last year. I'm glad to see you made it too. Congratulations !!

Congrats, DP! That's awesome.
Thanks to everyone who posts on this thread. Early on there were times when I wondered why I was "doing this sober thing". And I thought of Team January and the encouragement shared. The first weeks were shakey at times but those days are over. Plus, Coach Liz was crystal clear that she wouldn't take any whinning from the guys on the thread (Woodhead and myself).
Hope everyone has a Safe and Happy New Year!
