Great post, Pianowoman. 2-January will be my 1 yr mark. Incredibly, this all started as a New Years Resolution. But deep down I knew the only way I could be who I wanted to be was to break the chains of alcohol. Onward and upward.

I am at the back of the class with all the troublemakers (I m January 20). :P
It is so good to see you guys. We can do it, we are so close to a year. The 2012 Holiday season started a binge for me which prompted me to get back in recovery.
I was terrified of the Holidays but I must admit that so far, so good. I have all the big guns ready: AA, AVRT, SR, meetings lined up, books, phone numbers etc. and the only thing I ve done is post on SR because I like it not because I am struggling.
Well, whether it's in addiction or in sobriety one thing for sure: I never do things halfway. When they read the part at the meeting stating: "Half measures availed us nothing", I'm always like uuuuuuuhh??? What's an half measure?

I must admit, it felt very strange to be cooking Christmas dinner sober!
It was rather more nerve-wracking than before! But it seemed to come out well

Yay! 11 months today for me and Liz, my sobriety-twin! Go us!
Sadly, we don't reach our year until the end of January, but I'm feeling so confident about getting there that I ordered some white gold earrings last night for my anniversary present from me I promise I won't wear them until 27 Jan!
