I said it once
I'll say it again
I can't remember when I've been amongst
Such tender and caring people.
And talented! And fun! OMG!
I just love clever wit and words. And kindness.
I feel so overwhelmed, I can't even think of a poem
I love you guys.

You can't know how much I've needed you. I am so grateful.

Haven't had chance to read back over, was all of a panic coz I couldn't find you guys, eventually pm'd Dee!!! .......

.....Dee tell me please can you help?
I fear I may let out a yelp
The limerick thread
Appears to be dead
Please don't make me beat you, young whelp!

I'm having withdrawals from my rhyme
I need to get to my ode cohorts in time
I'm weak and I'm shaking
I swear I'm not faking
Please tell me that everything's fine,

I'm missing my poets it's true
And I won't take it all out on you
But my muse can be tough
If I don't write enough
So show me the new thread- please do!!!

....... And bless him, he did!!!

I've been a bit under the weather
The skin on my nose feels like leather
I've blown and I've blown
I moan and I groan
With SR we'll get through this together!

With a rhyme instead of a germ
I can share while feeling infirm
I can't breathe through my nose
Temporary I suppose
I hope this cold will be short-term!

Congrats on 8 months to DG
When I joined SR she inspired me!
I drew strength from her journal
my gratitude is eternal
DG, I am so proud of thee!

Fourteen days have passed.
Wonderful friends I've amassed.

The poetry thread is sublime!
But sometimes it's difficult to rhyme.

The mist inside my brain,
the moment by moment strain.

To keep on a clear course,
centered on my tour de force.

One constant I can see,
the affirmation inside of me,

emboldened by all of you here,
you detract me from my fear.

(This has got to be my favorite thread!!! Love all of you! *hugs*)

BrOOksie, I'm sorry
To hear of your cold
I have one, too. I'm starry
With fever. But we must be bold
(And stay under the covers)

Thanks to you all for the 8 month limericks
I'm glad to say that sobriety did stick
Carlos, sending extra hugs to you
I know it's been a tough time to get through

Snoozy, whatever did happen to the rat?
Did you adopt a giant cat?
Or buy a BB-gun?
Or did it win and make you run?
Does is still live in your flat?

Did it have it's babies?
Or give you rabies?
Did you smash it?
Or did you bash it?
(Rats don't really have rabies)

Did you hit it on the head?
Did it attack you in bed?
Or did you decide the babies were too cute and furry
To get rid of it in such a hurry?
Do you now have a whole rat family that needs fed?

Everyone seems to be sharpening pens
To win the trophy as we make amends
For drunken past
Now free at last
In limerick land out time we spend

Elsewhere and br00ksie keep your germs
I say in no uncertain terms
For if I sneeze
Or cough or wheeze
I'll hang you from your curly perms!
( not really, hope you both feel better soon! )

Carlos, do not allow snoozyQ
To sweet talk, and cosy up to you
She has a ploy
To use you, boy
And win the contest, what a to do!

She has a plan to take your affection
But with trophy in hand, she'll show rejection
To save your heart
From heartless tart
I suggest another judge election

Newbies here are showing gifts
So through our muse our words we sift
Hard work it takes
to win the cake
And hope the trophy high to lift

DG funny you should mention that
The scary saga of said Rat
It crept, it crawled , scuttled , slinked
Hobbled , gobbled , stared & blinked
Incisors bared she made a squeak
From then her future did look bleak.

I grabbed my dog to snuff her out
But gave her benefit of doubt
If I should leave an open door
I'll let her run across the floor
When darkness came the night was still
This ole rat , she knew the drill
She packed her bags and headed South
No longer dinner in doggies mouth.

Her road ahead was paved in gold
She did a runner , so I'm told
Mamma rat did not displease
She took her kids and hit the cheese.
Last i heard they bought a house
right next door to Mickey Mouse.

The kids went to a private school
Her husband turned into a tool .
The house caught fire , they had to douse
Mamma Rat nailed Mickey Mouse.
They all had lots of fun and laughter
And lived happily ever after .

The end . !

SnoozyQ, what a thriller!
The other side you didn't seek
You didn't become a dreaded killer
Of sin, so dark, you do not reek.

Unlike, Elseware, mouse murderer,
Extraordinaire.

My initial plans were not to judge
Hum, gaining affection for just a nudge
Must think this over
Could use a Land Rover
Oh, but my other plan eliminates grudge

No time to rhyme this: I will throw some ideas out there soon. Just been a bit of a busy time.

Carlos,

All but the winner
Will be quite bitter
Judge you may not want to be
For you have to see
The losers would hunt you down for dinner

We'd burn the Land Rover
Declare our friendship as over
Future rhymes by Carlos the Man
Would surely be banned
Although the winner would be your new lover

I'm getting all flustered
Filled with stage fright.
I know that I've blustered
My muse burned so bright.

Should it be sonnet or possibly ode?
How shall I ever be able to know?
In here somewhere, my poem's all in code,
Funny and smart, the rhymes in a row.

A song or a sermon?
What say you to that?
It could be about vermin
But that's really old hat.

Well, I must keep thinking
Leave no stone unturned
My heart is nigh sinking
I'm getting concerned!

Oh my Dear, I miss you intensely
Peculiar it is
as I never knew you while your heart was beating

An otherworldy association
A supernatural contact
An unusual relationship
A generous mentor
An attentive being
A mischievous guardian

Blessed I am to have you
But do you see me in my vexation
my anguish
my distress
my hardship

Let me feel you
so everything will be alright

(I know this has thesaurus written all over it but I just had to express this )

Miss Lilac. I'd love to know what your poem is about. I have an idea.... and it's very beautiful.

Thank you I noticed that odd things happen when you're not in the perpetual opiate fog. Do you know what I mean? You gain perspective, you find guidance both here and in other places that exist but we cannot see. I hope I don't offend anyone who believes differently.

Miss Else, I was told by a friend of mine in Springfield that the Willamette Valley (where I grew up) got 6+ inches of snow. I don't know if it's still around but I did read about the weather advisories that are popping up all over the state. I hope wherever you are up there, that you are safe and warm. Since you have horses I figured you were further outside a city and maybe facing more bad weather.

Miss Lilac. That brought the biggest smile to my face. Thank you Else. I've discovered some wonderful treasures in this thread- that being you, my friends.

How I crave you....

One little pill, one little sip to send us both down.

How I crave you...

A release from this ailment would send me back to you.
To you I can no longer run.

How I crave you...

A deliverance of some kind.
Not where I was,
but not outstanding.

(Scribbled this one down while going through a pill craving....next one will be more positive)
