My Little Shadow Analogy

I have a shadow that follows me.

It appears only when there is light.

Sometimes I think it is the darkness that resides in me and
when the sun comes out that it is God's way of pushing
that darkness out of me.

In the light of day that shadow or darkness is
either before me, beside me or behind me but it
is not in me.

It may follow me and I may not be able to shake
that shadow but it is outside of me.

However when I hide out in bed and isolate in a
dark room that shadow disappears and it feels like that
darkness re- enters my body in the form of depression
and sadness.

So I need to get out into the light again to force
that darkness out and remember that darkness
and depression can be overcome with light.

Darkness cannot drive out darkness,only light can do that.

Certain people have the same effect on me as the
sun, like a candle they come into my life and encourage
me, they help me drive out the darkness.

We all have a candle!!

We can use it to encourage others and help drive
out that darkness that lies in them.

The funny thing is, that when we do that, encourage others,
that our own candle gets stronger and brighter.

Go light your candles!
