My yoga DVDs came yesterday yay I managed to get through the first workout in all honesty it was really basic concentrated on breathing and stretching which is good for me because I am not bendy lol. It was a bit like meditation focusing on breathing I really enjoyed it found it relaxing . Going to use it in conjunction with my meditation cd's.

Not a lot planned for the weekend just swimming on Sunday and catching up on chores.

Hope you all doing good this Friday xx

Hi everyone, glad your yoga stuff has come Talia, a lot of friends in AA swear by meditation based on yoga, speaking of which, im off to a meeting at midday then making a start on some weights, picking my eldest up from school in afternoon, catching up with some former workmates in the evening then off to a second meeting at night- so wont have much time to even think about drinking today!

I just ordered one of those light therapy light boxes. Anyone use one? I definitely think I am in a seasonal slump, and get that way in the winter months.

Intelligence and doing something dumb are not mutually exclusive, Lom. I think you underrate yourself. One thing we do know: we were smart enough to find our way here!

It's wonderful, isn't it? I'm so grateful for the internet too, because I never would have found a traveling band like this any other way. The bonds that form are very real.

Rochelle, I just bought one at Costco. I know a few people who swear by them. I am still trying to figure out where to put mine as you need it to point toward your eyes for a minimum of 30 minutes per day. I don't have a lot of 30 minute blocks of stillness! I was thinking of maybe putting it on a shelf next to my mirror in the bathroom and using it while I get ready in the morning. Might not be a full 30 minutes, but better than nothing!

Hi S-13'ns.

I'm still in, but dealing with a gravely ill family member this week. It is my Aunt, my Dad's sister. They lived together for 40 years. My Dad passed in January following 13 years of dementia. Yes, 13 years. That disease f'n sucks. No other way to describe my true feelings. I have been responsible for overseeing their care for many years.

Trying to keep up on posts, but you guys are a busy bunch.

Hey, have a charmed weekend, S-13's!

Carlos

ps: Following 4" snow early in week, it will be 60 plus tomorrow. Break time for me...FORE!!

I also use a light therapy lamp, got the SAD as well.
Been using it last two winters. It helps but it's no miracle thing, but makes living with little sunshine easier.

Hi everyone

I'm here and sober. Actually doing pretty good. I had a horribly depressing few days last week after losing my job then relapsing. This week has been all about getting back on track. I started to go to the gym again and have reduced my sugar intake. Its having amazing results already so I'm feeling very hopeful. Not really craving yet today but Friday's and Saturday's are usually my triggers.

Thanks for thinking of me. I haven't gone anywhere just been quiet.

Okay I have a question for everybody does anyone have a room or specific place in your house that is a trigger. Like a bar, pool room or man cave . I have decided that my man cave needs to be re decorated it has neon beer signs. hamms beer bear hanging from the wall my man cave actually looks like a tavern I have been staying out of there.
