Good morning. Checking in and getting ready for work.

What a difference. Last Monday was a holiday and I started drinking in the early afternoon, so I could finish off the beer in my fridge and then have time to sober up before bedtime so I wouldn't be hungover for work on Tuesday. That experiment failed miserably because then i asked my husband to go get some draft for me and I drank all that, too.

I had to force myself in to work the next day and it was miserable. I just keep reminding myself that I never have to feel that way again. As long as I don't pick up that first drink and it's only for one day at a time.

Hi Fifth, I also slipped this weekend, on Saturday night, and I am so glad I came and shared and I feel more support than ever in my life. we have a strong, loving, kind group here. I am so grateful i came back and decided on trying for a sober September.

So, Fifth, take care of yourself today, and make your resolve stronger, as now is the time, when feeling so awful. We can do this! Boredom is a huge trigger for me. Just to have the glass in my hand in a weekend. So, last night, I used my favorite glass for some nice seltzer and lemons.

Thanks all for being here. I do think we have a great group and hope we can stick this out for the long haul.

************************

So, I am back to day 2, and I had an awful sleep. I think because I napped to heavily late in the afternoon. I felt tired going to bed, but was tossing all night.

I will be busy for the next two weekends with distractions to help me from drinking. My daughter's birthday gathering on Saturday, and the following weekend a friend is coming to visit and we will be busy. She does not drink a drop. Not an alcoholic, just a non-drinker. So, easy peasy. It would actually be awkward to have a drink with her. And I complain about being lonely, so perfect timing!

Good morning friends. I may be a bit more scarce today, but will check in and read. I have to get to chores and errands.

Day 9 begins. Morning coffee, shower, walk 25 min to work, do lots of work, survive the day. May go lift may not who knows.

Let's get through another sober week.

Fifth, is "boredom" the spot where you usually get stuck when quitting?

Morning-
Day 3 for me. Feel great. Full of resolve to beat this for good.

For those of you struggling, keep trying, don't give up, it's so much better on the sober side. Even with only 3 days, I see that. There is so much hope for all of us.
