This is hard, but for some reason I feel compelled to do it.

Tomorrow will be day 1 for me. Don't bother with any responses to talk me out of it, its too late. I have been surprised by the speed of my descent though. I thought I had more control, but I don't.

I look forward to tomorrow being a better day, and I hope to still be able to participate in this thread, as I have come to care about, sympathize with, and value the people in it.

I hope everyone else had more success than I did, even though I know I have learned something very valuable and important.

thanks,
John

John,

If you haven't taken that drink yet, I hope you'll stop yourself. What is to be gained by it? What is going to be different tomorrow if you drink today? Are you going to be able to control what happens if you do take that first drink? The second? The tenth?

Wishing you and everyone struggling the best. Have to head to work now...

John , please , it's your choice , obviously. I'm asking you , not too. If I were there I would give you a hug , if it helped. What ever you need , dont hesitate. I'll be on here all night.

Casey, I hope you have a good day at work. and sorry to be so obtuse in my past posts, but i have taken that drink.

I admire your truthfulness and tenacity.

I asked myself that same question, what is to be gained. I guess the answer is that there is nothing to be gained. its more along the lines of what is to be not suffered. \

ok i cannot justify this.i can only go thru it and learn.

welcome back messyliver
congrats on 30 days ladybug

Hope you're doing better now Riky

misterritter - I think most of us have felt, at one time or another, that we'd rather go for the familiar of the drink that stand the unfamiliar of the recovery one more second.

But recovery should not be that painful - if it is, I think you need to consider you've been doing it wrong.

Think about your support - is it enough?

Have you made enough changes in your life, or are you still stuck in a life that unrelentingly reminds you of drinking?

They're tough questions, but I think you need to answer them, if only to yourself
